All right guys, here is the tip to install the mod in SF X TEKKEN, SSFIVAE & USF4 without messing with the original files (discovered by Robhal)

SFxT
1. First create folder "chara" inside this folder "\Program Files\CAPCOM\Street Fighter X Tekken\patch\CMN\battle\".
2. Then create folder for respective character, eg: ASK, KEN, LIL, RYU, etc.
3. And finally just extract or copy the mod into above folder.
4. Run the game to see the result.

NOTE1: I have tested this way with mods from moedjoer (usually only 8 files), khaled, monkeygigabuster, and other. All work.
NOTE2: Because the original files are untouched, there is no need to backup them.

SSFIV
1. First create folder "battle\chara" inside this folder "\Program Files\CAPCOM\Super Street Fighter IV\patch\" or "Steam\SteamApps\common\Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition\patch"(depend on version you use).
2. Then create folder for respective character, eg: CDY, KEN, MKT, RYU, etc (even GKX, RYX, YAN and YUN can be placed here too).
3. And finally just extract or copy the mod into above folder.
4. Run the game to see the result.

NOTE1: also works with stage, sound, hud or other mods (at least on SSF4AE).

USF4
1. First create folder "chara" inside this folder "\Program Files\CAPCOM\Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition\patch_ae2\battle" or "Steam\SteamApps\common\Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition\patch_ae2\battle"(depend on version you use)
2. Then create folder for respective character, eg: CDY, KEN, MKT, RYU, etc (even GKX, RYX, YAN and YUN can be placed here too).
3. And finally just extract or copy the mod into above folder.
4. Run the game to see the result.

NOTE1: also works with stage, sound, hud or other mods (at least on USF4).

List of some special character folder:

1/Abel :"JHA" (SSFIVAE,USFIV) and "ABL" (in SF X TEKKEN)
2/Rufus:"CHB" (SSFIVAE,USFIV) and "RFS" (in SF X TEKKEN)
3/C.Viper: "AGL"
4/El Fuerte : "RIC"
5/Seth : "BOS"
6/Evil Ryu : RYX
7/Oni: GKX
8/Akuma : GKI
9/M.Bison(Dictator) : VEG
10/Balrog(boxer) : BSN
11/Vega(Claw) : BLR

I hope this is useful for all of you.

With the method above you don't have to mess with original files.
Here is a backup of original files: aemods.pbworks.com/w/page/4406…

First of all: Which game are you asking about?
Remember that each character needs its own folder.

what to do with hud, stage, title mods???

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SegadorMods In reply to handa711 [2015-03-04 16:35:06 +0000 UTC]

They are installed in a similar way.
Just create similar sub-folders in the "patch" (or "patch_ae2")Β folder than the ones in the "resource" folder (where there are the hud, stage, etc. you want to replace) and place the mod files there.

Menu title is a little tricky.

The path is ...\patch_ae2_tu2\ui\advertise\title.
Then rename the file to "title_ultra.emz" (Remember to backup the original file)

But it will appear behind the USF4 fog effect.

Hey, I checked the files, but there is no battle folder inside the CMN folder. The path goes Capcom\Street Fighter X Tekken\patch\CMN\setting\mission\mission.clg. There is a battle folder in the other CMN folder (inside the resource folder) but I assume these are the original files. Any ideas?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SegadorMods In reply to OmegaKross [2015-01-11 20:47:01 +0000 UTC]

That's strange, there should be aΒ "battle" folder. Maybe you don't have the gameΒ updated?
Create that folder, the mods should work.

EDIT: Okay, ingnore all that crap from before. Updated my game, unlocked all extra chars and swap costumes, got Chun-li seashell bikini mod running fine using your method. Still cant work out how to unlock third costume slot though. I have the all-in-one hack, but I must be doing something wrong still. I got the files for 3rd costume and put them in resource\CMN\battle\chara\CNL\ and got nothing.

Also, does it erase your save every time you switch mods? Not that it matters, but its kinda annoying to have to keep switching the voices over to english every time.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SegadorMods In reply to OmegaKross [2015-01-12 10:33:53 +0000 UTC]

This is the unlocker I use: w11.zetaboards.com/SFxT_Mods/t…
It doesn't erase your saves, but maybe creates a new one the first time.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

OmegaKross In reply to SegadorMods [2015-01-12 17:41:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's the one I've got too. I can't seem to get the dinput8 hack to work properly. The first time I put the files in the game folder I just got an error message saying 'dinput8 failed to load.' I renamed the file to .asi like it says to do if you're running x360ce (which, unless it's pre-installed on my laptop I don't think I am) and it loaded up then, but there was no effect other than resetting my savefile. I downloaded the Xliveless files and that unlocked the swap costumes and some other stuff, but not the third costume slot or extra characters. Yesterday I actually signed in and updated my game, which got the extra characters unlocked, but still no third slot. I've fudged around with the dinput8 file (manually copied dinput8.dll from system32, renamed it to .asi then reinstalled dinput8.dll from the unlocker, got the same failed to load error message, swapped the files around, game loads, no effect) but can't get it working.

I'll try removing the unlocker scripts and the .dll file and reinstalling them into the game folder, as its designed to work with the 1.08.exe and I was using the game without the patch when I first used the unlocker. Other than that I'm pretty much stumped. I mean, I can get the mods running fine now, so it's not a total loss, but only having two slots available is pretty crap. I'd look for a forum, but interest in this game is pretty much dead and I cant find any with the information I need. Which is why I'm hanging around deviantart bothering you. Sorry

EDIT: Nope, didn't work.

In SFxT every mod should replace the costume it is meant to replace. If you use it in other costume there are bugs and crashes.

You have to create that folder and place the mod there.
It is better this way because you don't have to mess with original files.

BTW, which mod are you trying to install?

Any mod don't work with the third costumes of Juri! Only the costume 3. That, maybe, because ther's an incompatibility with dlc!? i don't know..Β

I don't know, it doesn't work for me...it works with all the other non-2014 characters and I know the mod works because I used it with the traditional method of replacing files but I guess it just doesn't work for the Ultra characters. Have you tried it?

For SFIV games, you can just renumber the files to 02, 03, etc. But you need all the files, if the mod doesn't have all of them, you can find them in resource > battle > chara > XXX

For SFxT it's a bit more complicated, here is a guide to do that: w11.zetaboards.com/SFxT_Mods/t…

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Burakki-Kareshi In reply to SegadorMods [2014-11-18 05:20:18 +0000 UTC]

Whoa whoa, wait, the numbers for the costume slot? or the numbers for the costume type (if original or an alternate)? or is this for the single numbered files? (example, CMY_01.bsr) i know that you can change the alternates and such, but i was wondering if it works per actual costume color slot.
