All right guys, here is the tip to install the mod in SF X TEKKEN, SSFIVAE & USF4 without messing with the original files (discovered by Robhal)
SFxT
1. First create folder "chara" inside this folder "\Program Files\CAPCOM\Street Fighter X Tekken\patch\CMN\battle\".
2. Then create folder for respective character, eg: ASK, KEN, LIL, RYU, etc.
3. And finally just extract or copy the mod into above folder.
4. Run the game to see the result.
NOTE1: I have tested this way with mods from moedjoer (usually only 8 files), khaled, monkeygigabuster, and other. All work.
NOTE2: Because the original files are untouched, there is no need to backup them.
SSFIV
1. First create folder "battle\chara" inside this folder "\Program Files\CAPCOM\Super Street Fighter IV\patch\" or "Steam\SteamApps\common\Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition\patch"(depend on version you use).
2. Then create folder for respective character, eg: CDY, KEN, MKT, RYU, etc (even GKX, RYX, YAN and YUN can be placed here too).
3. And finally just extract or copy the mod into above folder.
4. Run the game to see the result.
NOTE1: also works with stage, sound, hud or other mods (at least on SSF4AE).
USF4
1. First create folder "chara" inside this folder "\Program Files\CAPCOM\Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition\patch_ae2\battle" or "Steam\SteamApps\common\Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition\patch_ae2\battle"(depend on version you use)
2. Then create folder for respective character, eg: CDY, KEN, MKT, RYU, etc (even GKX, RYX, YAN and YUN can be placed here too).
3. And finally just extract or copy the mod into above folder.
4. Run the game to see the result.
NOTE1: also works with stage, sound, hud or other mods (at least on USF4).
List of some special character folder:
1/Abel :"JHA" (SSFIVAE,USFIV) and "ABL" (in SF X TEKKEN)
2/Rufus:"CHB" (SSFIVAE,USFIV) and "RFS" (in SF X TEKKEN)
3/C.Viper: "AGL"
4/El Fuerte : "RIC"
5/Seth : "BOS"
6/Evil Ryu : RYX
7/Oni: GKX
8/Akuma : GKI
9/M.Bison(Dictator) : VEG
10/Balrog(boxer) : BSN
11/Vega(Claw) : BLR
I hope this is useful for all of you.

If those folders already exist (your game is updated), just place the mods there.

The mods must be placed in those same folders.
Don't delete the files already there, they are part of an update patch. This method is meant to make the game believe the mods are also part of an update.
Just place the mods' files in the same folder. The mods won't overwrite the .bac and .bcm files (you can check the files before installing a mod to be sure).
To uninstall a mod delete the mod's files, but don't touch the original files.

Yes, it works with the latest version of every game.

You said that it works also with Stages and other mods, but i tried it out with stages and it didn't work on USF4. So can you tell me what to do exactly with stages mods?
π: 0 β©: 1
SegadorMods In reply to DeathColdUA [2018-09-03 11:46:52 +0000 UTC]
It works for stages too, but the folder you have to create is different.
...\Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition\patch_ae2\battle\stage
Then just copy the mod's files in this folder.

I just tried it out, and stages works, but the new icons in stage select screen and music for those stages are not working. I downloaded World Warrior Stages pack, which is from Street Fighter 2, and that stages has it's own music, and when i copyed all files in USF4/patch_ae2/battle/stage then the only stages has changed to those that i downloaded, but not the music and icons of those stages on stage select screen. So i will send you a link, so you can try it out and tell me what to do.Β
Here is the link for that stages pack:Β

I downloaded the mod. The files are separated in different folders, because they must be placed in different folders.
In the README files says in which folders you must extract the files. But doing that will replace the original files, so you'll have to make a backup.
The method in this page consists in creating a similar folder structure that the original, but using the "patch_ae2" folder. (e.g. "Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition\patch_ae2\battle\chara\XXX" instead of "Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition\resource\battle\chara\XXX").
So look at the folders in the README files. And create a folder just like it says but with "patch_ae2" instead of "dlc" or "patch_ae2_tu2".

So, i tried everything as you said, but it only worked for the stages and it's music but not for the icons on stage select screen. Any ideas? Also, for the music, i just created two folders in USF4/patch_ae2/battle/... and it looks like this: USF4/patch_ae2/battle/sound/bgm/ and it worked for the music. Now i need to do something with icons on stage select screen, cause the same method but with different folders for the files are not working.

Other mods work? Do you have all costumes unlocked?

Figured that it's a costume unlock situation, as I managed to get them to work by switching the costume number to 1.

I'm experienced with adding mods now thanks to your help, but there's one thing I can't find out how to do, which is porting SFxT mods to USF4. I see tutorials for porting SSF4AE to SFxT, and I assume it's the same process, but I can't get it to work. Is there a good tutorial on this somewhere?
π: 0 β©: 1
SegadorMods In reply to TheLastGallant [2017-05-31 16:24:15 +0000 UTC]
The process is basically the same. The problem there is that SFxT don't have proper textures, thus you have to create them if you want the mod to work in USF4.

So I started editing colors to get myself accustomed to the process, but looking at the SFxT textures it seems like it's no use. I assume it's basically impossible to make these work without the original un-customizable textures?
π: 0 β©: 1
SegadorMods In reply to TheLastGallant [2017-06-06 09:06:09 +0000 UTC]
It's possible to use uncostumizable textures. Open the material files with EMMEdit v1.2 and in "Shader" change every "SpcBumpBrushColorXXX_UV1_W" with "SpcBumpBrushSSS_UV1_W" (the one in tooth or mouth, for example) and remove all "MatColorX" in those materials.

TheLastGallant In reply to SegadorMods [2017-06-06 16:07:15 +0000 UTC]
I did that, and it kind of made her look better, but her colors are still crazy (skin is still bright blue, her hair blue, only the jacket is normal). I'm saying is there a way to turn the textures in the DDS files back into their original colors?
π: 0 β©: 1
SegadorMods In reply to TheLastGallant [2017-06-06 17:42:20 +0000 UTC]
Maybe the textures are incorrectly assigned?
And the original .dds are just like that, there is no simple way to make them "normal textures" (you have to paint them manually to do so).

TheLastGallant In reply to SegadorMods [2017-06-06 19:20:56 +0000 UTC]
That's what I mean. I was trying to see if there was a simple way to paint the SFxT .dds accurately, but it seems like there isn't.Β

Hopefully you'll reply to this.
I'm getting into USF4 modding a little late, but for some reason I can't assign costumes to different slots. Every time I try to rename the files (for instance, changing cmy_01_01 to cmy_02_01) to be used for a different slot, the game crashes when I select that costume. It shouldn't be the costume itself though, because it works before I rename it.Β

SegadorMods In reply to TheLastGallant [2017-02-20 09:48:54 +0000 UTC]
Probably that happens because to renumber you need ALL of the costume files and they aren't included in the mod.

TheLastGallant In reply to SegadorMods [2017-02-20 13:13:24 +0000 UTC]
Well that still didn't work sadly. The mod I'm using actually did come with those files and I did rename them before, so I tried the files from you. I ended up with Sakura's regular alternate costume except her entire model was grey lol

Now I remember. There are some costume files in "patch>battle>chara_aer>XXX"
You must remove those files (make a backup) to make any mod work in those costumes.
