(c) 2021i did an exploration of my well-loved ink medium by getting some feelings out on paper. this is part of a diptych, the rightmost part.
this was my expression of exhalation: of letting go of air after breathing deeply. as part of my exploration of my own non-binary identity, i have struggled with chest dysphoria. small things may trigger it, from the heaviness i carry to the way my clothes hug my form. this half of this piece is part of letting go of that air that i have been holding, trying to be smaller, flat-chested, more me. there is liberation in being topless, but at what cost?
