Description
This is really just for a project for Inu (whoops) so it isn't impressive, took me ten minutes, and is to help her adopt one of the two characters.Inu, that's Mitsukai on the left (looking at his hand for a reason) and the evil smirking one is Hateshina. Mitsukai is wearing a jeweled golden headband-crown thingie. Hateshina is wearing armor...and just so damned smug about it.
Choose wisely. <3

LOL Pushy!
Okay, Mitsukai's Dad was the warden of a large prison. Most of the inmates there were 'special' (political prisoners, etc.) and Mit's Dad was the head of the show with lots of guards under his control. Mit's Mom died early, he has no memories of her. It is said that the beautiful woman grew more and more depressed because of the bleak conditions of the prison and wasted away till illness took her.
Anyway, by the time Mit is six, he's helping the guards and Dad with little tasks (helping carry serving trays, gruel bucket, etc) So he gets to have the keys to everything. However, he forbidden from going into one certain wing. He asks the captain of the guard, his surogate 'mean but love ya' Older Brother, what's in there and the Captain says 'Oh, Mosnters. The kind that eat little boys up in one gulp!' he does this before the rest of the guards and they all laugh....and it makes little Mit mad.
Now he's got something to prove!
He bravely enters the win when he is supposed to be heading up for bed. He ges alone and no one knows he's there. He unlocks the doors and finds that it appears to be all empty. No monsters. At the end of the hall is a door and a small amount of light is escaping into the hall. He can hear a voice repeating 'It's so dark. It's so dark. I can't see. It's so dark. Please help me. It's so dark.'
Whoever they are, they are crying. Mitsukai is afraid but very compassionate. He opens the door.
More? :>

It's a surprise Birthday Party! XD Bwa ha ha
Okay.....seriously....
Mit peeks around the door and sees that there is a young man (17 at most) huddled in the far corner. The walls of the cell are blackened like the inside of a well used oven and the light is coming from one sad little lantern left in the center of the room. The young man is rocking, saying the same mantra 'It's so dark. I can't see. So dark.' But...it's not that dark. Mit can see. And when the door opens wider, the young man doesn't even look up. Mit wonders if he's blind.
Then the young man curls up tigher and starts to sob. Mit feels sorry for the young BLIND man left all alone in the cold big cell. (One might wonder why a blind person needs a lantern but...Hell...he's just a kid. Didn't figure that out.) He crawls up to the young man and in a sweet voice says 'I'm scared of the dark too sometimes.'
The young man snaps his head up, eyes blazing fire (kinda literally) and, before Mit can scream he snares the boy. 'Angel! Angel of light. I've found you!' Mit is hysterical, he struggles, bites, claws, screams for help but....no one can hear him but the prisoner and he's not letting go.
Are you sure you want the rest? I'm not trying to tease you. Remember. BAD WRITER> Boring!

Kay.
So, keep in mind, the prisoner is a 17 year old who hasn;t seen anything 'retty' before and now his arms are filled with his beautiful crying angel. So he kisses away his angel's tears and touches his pretty skin and he......-cough- -makes hand gestures- Ya know! STUFF!
Eventually, Mit stops struggling. He's so overcome with pain, fear, and confusion that he ceases to scream or move. When the prisoner eases his grip 'coo'ing' and cuddling, Mitsukai takes the keys, which he still has in his clutching hand and stabs the prisoner's hand with it. (He's a survivor, I tell ya)
Mit makes a mad dash for the hallway and the prisoner is wailing and rising to go after. Funny thing is, the walls are starting to bleed fire and the hall is becoming a vortex of flame. Mit has just enough mind left to propel himself through the rising flames, away from the dangerous 'monster, and through the wings' doors and lock it behind him before teh other can get out.
He drops his keys to the floor, watching as the door handle grows brrightest red and shakes wildly as the prisoner tries to get to him. Finding it locked, the prisoner starts to scream...lke Hell itself is behind those doors. Mit runs, blindly, away from the wing and to his 'hidey spot' that he's always had.
Ever since he could recall, when he got into trouble or wanted to be alone, he would go to his 'Hidey Spot' that was the outer archway of a stone window. There he was out of sight and could look over the city. But, on this night, he was hiding from a monster, from guards that might jeer his pain, from a Father that would be disappointed (he wasn;t supposed to go to the forbidden Wing), and...from just his own frantic thoughts. (His Dad and the guards would NOT have laughed, mind you. But this is a kid. He doesntt even understand what's happened. He's just hurt and lost)
He stays there all night, passing out due to pain (he kinda got...torn....uh...) and exhaustion. He is curled up in shivering the elements all night, not waking as a fever has set and he's unconscious...and perched many many many floors above the ground. Ever parent's happiest thought!
He might have been found sooner if not for the fact the prison is in an uproar because the rather catatonic prisoner of the private wing is very much AWAKE, AWARE, and ACTIVE! While the guards are in a frenzy trying to contain the dangerous man and keep the building from...melting, the prisoner keeps screaming 'My ange l! Don't leave me now. It is so dark...so dark without you!' No one knows what he's talking about.
The spare keys, Mitsukai's keys, are found outside the private Wing. A search begins for him but it is feared that he was burned up in the Private Wing due to the prisoner's flaring power. One last hope, known my the Guard Captain, is the 'Hidey Spot.' They find him, but it is now morning and he is been out there all night..and he isn't waking.
A physician is called from the near by village and he treats Mitsukai but confirms their fears. The boy has been raped. And it would seem their powerful prisoner is to blame. The Guard Captain wants to kill the man outright. But they can't touch him...because he's the Emperor's son.
Bored?

-almost bedtime and I notice I am making typing mistakes like crazy- -yawn-
Okay, so while Mit is recovering, a messenger is sent to the palace to tell the Royal Advisors that the Emperor's son is out of his catatonic state, showing off some serious powers, and is able interact...on some level. You see, the prisoner's father is the Emeror Yoji. Yoji, like his son, is completely nuts and they had hope that his son would be more in control but Yoji's son was born deranged and destructive. He was kept in prison and away from people in the hope that he would, one day, get better. Now, he is speaking to people...even if it is to just to scream 'My Angel. Bring me my Angel!'
If Koura, Yoji's son, can replace his Dad...that means they can kill off Yoji...who is heavily sedated because he is also a destructive monster. (Yoji doesn't normally even speak anymore except to scream and bring down fire upon them from the skies when he isn't sedated.)
It was said, by an Oracle, that as long as one with the fireblood is on throne that the land will be fee of famine or plague and no country would ever war with them. So they NEED Yoji or Koura.
Sorry, had to explain that.
The officials arrive and find Koura actually able to comprehend them. But his pleas for his 'Angel' soon grow to threats. Koura actually burns through the throat of one of the advisors that tries to tell him to 'Behave and they would bring him his Angel later.' (Bring him, NOOOW!) Stupid man. Feeling the darkness coming back and no Angel in sight, Koura is starting to get worse and he is far more dangerous then his Dad will ever be.
Anyway, one of the guards of the royal escort overhears how the Captain would like nothing but to toss the Emperor's son from the roof for 'what he did to the Warden's son.' They make additional inquiries and find out about Mitsukai and how all of this seems beyond coincidence.
While Mit's Dad is at Mit's bedside, the advisors and royal guards storm in, snatch him up and a brawl between prison guards and royal guards breaks out. But the advisors still take an unconscious Mit to Koura. (Killing Mit's Dad when he discovers WHERE they are taking his boy and the gentle man looses it) The moment they present the fevered child to the Emperor's son, Koura's demonic tantrum subsides completely and he becomes as gentle as a lamb. He holds Mit, cuddles him, and is actually able to be reasoned with by the advisors...as long as he has his Angel.
Without any choice, completely unconscious, and with the Prison Guards unable to defeat the overwhelming odds of the superior forces of the Royal guards, Koura takes Mit. They board a carriage, the NEW Emperor totally focused on the delicate creature in his arms and off to the palace they go.
Mitsukai is seen by the royal physician, the same physician that poisons Yoji and puts the man out of their misery. Koura remains with Mit, never leaving him, kissing his cold little hands and pleading with his Angel to wake. And, at last he does. He opens his honey colored eyes, spies Koura, and...screams...and screams...and screams. He begs for his Father, for help from his 'Big Brother,' for anyone. No one helps. Koura just snares him and kissed his cheek and throat and pleads for his Angel not to be upset. T^T
As Koura attempts to comfort Mitsukai, a Royal advisor explains to he boy that he was there to help the new Emperor to recover. He needed to be a good boy and not make a fuss or his Father would suffer and might be thrown into jail if he didn't cooperate. (Remember, Mit's Dad is DEAD. Bastard!) Mit knows what prisons are like, obviously, and the threat terrifies him. The Advisor promises that the Emperor won't hurt the boy (Lies!!!) and Koura swear he will not touch his Angel 'like that' again. (LIIIIEES!)
What choice does Mitsukai have?? (And the story is far from over)
Enough for tonight. Beddie calls. If you want to know the rest, just let me know. Also, if something makes no sense....let me know that too. You're the first person to ever hear/read the story.
Night!

All right, where did we leave off?
I think we left lil’ Mit in the Palace being lied to. Okay.
Koura insists on laying with Mit and HAS to touch him. (The Emperor is gentler now but still…he –coughs- does…things) So his abuse continues and Mit can’t see his Father and it is slowly breaking down his mental well being. One of the advisors takes Mit aside (who is refusing to eat at this time) and tells him like it is.
He is going to stay there. In a few years, Koura would likely loose interest in his pretty little catamite and then he would be free. While he was there, he might as well reap the benefit of a good education to prepare himself for the life after.
Mit listens (He grows up fast) and, while he is in no way eager to be touched of loving, he stops fighting tooth and nail.
Eight years pass and Koura does NOT loose interest. The only change is that the Emperor seems more and more sane. He is still unable to do without Mitsuaki but he can be apart from him in short bursts and isn’t as dangerous. Mitsukai realizes that, at this point, he isn’t going to be released due to lack of interest by his lover.
He also realizes that he has a good deal of influence over Koura. Since Mit has to be with the Emperor ALL the time, he has to be in court with him as well. He listens to politics, trials, laws, etc. While in court, a member of the resistance and a man accused of having magical abilities is brought in with his young son. (both having magic that could rival the Emperor or being part of the resistance is illegal and punishable by death) Mit can’t save the man but the boy he is able to spare when he asks Koura for his life. The Emperor grants it, much to the ire of his advisors as the boy will LIKELY have magical abilities and be defiant toward the Emperor.
Mitsukai is now sixteen and his advisors have realized two things A.) At this point, Koura will never sire an heir because he only wants Mitsukai B.) Mit is getting to be to powerful. They want him out of the way. And Mitsukai wants to be free, desperately. He still clings to the hope he will get to leave one day, have a wife and family, and live a normal life. The advisors have a proposition for him.
If he can convince Koura to take a wife and sire an heir then they will help Mitsukai leave. Mitsukai doesn’t trust them (why should he?!) but he realizes it is now or never. He agrees and it takes two more years for him to convince the Emperor to marry a woman.
The woman is Lucinda, a nobleman’s daughter and a beautiful woman. While Koura wants nothing to do with her, Mitsukai is allowed small spans of time with her and…he is falling in love with the girl. She’s gentle, intelligent, and he can greatly sympathize with her plight. She too is in a situation out of her control, used, and trying to make the best of it. She wants to be Empress, to fulfill her father’s wishes, and give the nation the heir it so desperately wants. And Mitsukai wants to be free….and to make her happy.
He asks Koura to lay with her and the man denies him passionately. At last, Mitsukai tells him ‘You took my family, my home, my innocence, and my childhood from me. Grant me this.’ Sobbing, Koura obeys but he has one condition; Mitsukai must be there. (Ew) And Mitsukai cannot refuse this. So he had to be with the woman he loves AND the Emperor during that night and he knows Koura will touch and XXXX him before her. (Poor Mit, talk about humiliating) But Koura won’t touch the woman, at first, and Mit is the one that makes ‘it’ all happen.
Thankfully, it takes only one night and Lucinda shows signs of being pregnant in the moths to follow. Mit knows, it’s time to go if he is ever going. But now he is attached to Lucinda and he wonders how the Emperor will react to his disappearance (Will he hurt her?) But the woman urges him to go, to be free. They share one kiss and Mitsukai escapes (He’s had ten years to basically plan it) with the help of the noblewoman. However, he fears leaving her friendless and he cannot completely leave her so they use a trusted messenger to carry messages back and forth.
Over the next few months, they write each other. Mitsukai isn’t too far away from the city but he hears news that Koura is NOT happy to have lost his ‘Angel.’ No matter, Mit is free. But Lucinda’s letters increasingly worry him for her safety and the baby’s. With each letter the messenger delivers, he feels drawn back but he has the feeling that if he goes back…there is no leaving again.
And then, the next time the messenger comes, he does not come alone. The royal guard is with him. Mitsukai is caught. Lucinda betrayed him. (T^T He loved her. The bitch!)
They force him into a carriage and back to the palace he goes but he doesn’t know if it is to simply return to Koura, to prison for his defiance, or to death. As he rides, he realizes that none of it matters. He is filled with hate and it is all he knows.
From the windows, he can see that the city is BURNING. Koura’s power, always formidable, is Godly in full rage. He will listen to the advisors no longer. His Angel left him in Darkness and so he would bring everlasting darkness to everyone. (Sweet guy) Koura is on a rampage and just walking the streets bringing fiery death to anyone he meets and to the very village itself. As the carriage draws near, the horses will go no further. Mitsukai sees Koura and hate propels him from the carriage, past the shocked guards and straight at Koura.
He walks right up to him, ignoring the fire and the madness in Koura’s eyes, and strikes him. And strikes him…and strikes him…and some more. All the while he howls ‘I hate you! I hate you! There is nothing upon this earth then I hate more than you!’ And Koura, wild and thoughtless, folds in onto himself and bawls. The flames fade, the Emperor cowers, and Mitsukai stands over him with bloody fists and tears. Continue?

LOL I'm still baffled you are into this.
Because Mit ran through fire, he is badly injured and he broke one of his hands on the Emperor's face. (punched him so hard his bones cracked) He is in great pain but he won't let Koura carry him but knows he is in no physical state to resist the guards. he is escorted back to the Palace, gritting his teeth, and his eyes stinging in pain and rage. Meekly, Koura follows.
It is apparent to all that Koura has calmed and the servants come forward to see a badly burned Mitsukai and, among them, is Lucinda. She looks exhausted, worn, and bares a burnt mark of a hand on her once lovely pale cheek. When she sees Mitsukai, she bursts into tears and Mitsukai turns his head away from her....he feels nothing for her.
The doctors treat Mitsukai but the man is locked in a silent fury and he will neither speak, sleep, nor eat. Koura remains by his bedside, suddenly coherent and sweet.
The Advisors have learned something by all of this. Koura is THE most powerful ruler ever in their history. he is an excellent wepaon but the means to control him is and will forever be Mitsukai. The Firebloods do not agepast a certain point and if they could keep Koura sane (sanish) then there is no need for an heir. But Mitsuaki is mortal and that is a problem.
Now, member the oracle mentioned earlier? He was a magic user too. it took him a lifetime but he perfected an elixar that will basically copy the lifespan of a fireblood (in theory anyway) but he was too afraid to use it, in the end, because he was afraid he would also go mad like those of the Fireblood. That elixar was kept and passed down through the generations. The Advisors decide, it is time to use i...on Mitsukai.
While Mitsukai is slipping in and out of unconsiousness, the Advisors tell the Emperor that they wish to make Mit his enternal consort and bond the man to him forever. Koura is all for that. They explain that they have to 'hurt' Mitsukai to help him. O_O
Mit wakes tothe sensation of fire being driven under his skin. Teh elicar

That elixir was kept and passed down through the generations. The Advisors decide, it is time to use it...on Mitsukai.
While Mitsukai is slipping in and out of unconsciousness, the Advisors tell the Emperor that they wish to make Mit his eternal consort and bond the man to him forever. Koura is all for that. They explain that they have to 'hurt' Mitsukai to help him. O_O
Mit wakes tothe sensation of fire being driven under his skin. The elixir has to be applied with a needle and, much like a tattoo, driven under the skin to slowly introduce itself to the blood stream. The marking leave a certain golden hue and the Advisors decide to 'brand' Mitsukai with the symbol of Koura's empire. That way, if he ever escapes again, he will be a marked man. Mit doesn;t know what they are doing but the pain is enough to make him thrash and scream (the elixir hurts is, after all, a poison that kills your humanity) and Koura holds him down whispering 'It's for your own good, Angel!' He passes out again.
When Mit wakes, he has no more wounds but has the weird emblem on his hand. He asks Koura what he did and Koura won't say. He demands of the advisors to tell him but they won't tell him either. He tells an advisor, who knows if this is a fireblood Mit or just a pissed Mit, that he will ask Koura to kill the advisor unless he tells him the truth. The Advisor, frightened of this 'new' Mit, tells him he is immortal. Mit cannot escape the Emperor even in death. Mitsuaki....wails.
Remember that wife, the kids, the normal life that he wanted. Well...kiss it good bye. He is a slave now and...forever.
Koura cannot console his lover who crumples to the floor and simply shakes. The pair remain curled up on the floor, Mit simply shaking with rage and Koura crooning. After three says a servant comes tells the pair that Lucinda has gone into labor and pleads with Mit to come. Mit, feeling dead inside, rises and Koura goes to follow but Mit draws back his hand as if to strike and the man huddles back to the floor.
(Again, is this fireblood Mit or pissed Mit?)
He goes to Lucinda and (what no one told her) was that the Mother of a fireblood child usually dies as the child is born. She knows it now. She is panting and in agony. When she sees Mitsukai standing by her bedside, she begs him with her last breath to forgive her. Please. Please forgive her. She was frightened and alone. She feared for her life and the child's. Forgive her.
Mitsukai stands there, silent, and watches her die and watches Yashiro being born.
Still fascinated?

They place Yashiro into Mit's arms and he realizes something. If yashiro becomes powerful like his Father, he can KILL Koura. But he would have to hate his Father and wish him dead. Mitsukai can DO that.
Over the coming years, Mit takes control as a 'Silent Ruler.' No longer does he lash out but seems the ideal consort. And because he has been beside the Emperor for all these years, many look to him for guidance and to help control Koura. The advisors slowly loose control.
The only hitch is that Koura seems aware that Mit is basically raising Yoshiro and is jealous of his own son. As soon as he comes of age, he wants the boy gone. (he'd kill him if Mit would let him) And Yoshiro, powerful, seems to have his Father's same problem. No Mit = Insanity. Already the two are bickering and violent over him and the boy is only thirteen or so.
Mitsukai has become endeared to the people because he is the voice of reason and mercy (albeit only on the surface.) He has also become aware of an underground which hates the Emperor and the whole line. As much as he can, Mitsukai protects them...though he can never do so directly.
As he walks alone while the Emperor is resting, a figure appears from the shadows. Mitsukai thinks it is an assasin out for his blood but the man takes a knee before him. The man, amazingly enough, managed to break in, slip past the royal guards, and all without anyone knowing it. Impressive. he reveals himself to be part of the resistance and....the boy Mitsukai saved so long ago. (Remember, his Dad died for being a rebel and magic user but Mit got the Emperor to spare the son)
He tells Mit that the resistance is wary of Mitsukai but that he assured them that the 'Silent Ruler' was not the Emperor's pawn and that he wanted the Empire's fall as much as they did. Mit does not know if he can trust him but he does not alert the guards or refuse. The man says he will appear again before him, train Mitsukai in defense (and maybe magic), help Mit bring down the Emperor. He then disappears.
And now Koura can take no more of his son and sends him away. Mit cannot protest too much for the boy is of age and he can only hope the seeds of hatred have been planted deep.
Will Yashiro become the opponent Mit is hoping for?
Was the Resistance member really who he said he was and does he intend to help Mit when so many other have lied?
And does the fireblood actually hurt Mit or help him in this struggle for the one thing that seems to constantly elude him; his freedom?
Time will tell.
At this point, when I was writing it, I got bored and the story stopped. :/

*ideas for main character has sparked* ooooooh~ so idea!! what if my character was the magician's son's sister~ 8D ideas are just like popping into my brain like crazy!!! *o* her name is ReiMei and she is younger than her brother. she has her mother's hair, which is red like the dawn sky, and her father's eyes, which are blue and hold all the sorrow in the world. she could have been very little, like say 5ish when Koura had her father killed. they're mother could have died soon after from some illness and her brother had to raise her on his own. they would be all alone in the world and thus her eyes are so full of sorrow. Her brother helps to train her in the arts of magick, though she prefers not to let on that she's actually much better at it than him. She looks sweet and innocent but she's actually very disciplined and rather numb to her own pain. She is extremely numb inside, but hides it with a smile. her brother could send her to the palace as....well as something...but really to be a spy~ 8D and then she will meet Mitsu and they immediately become friends because of the fact that their plot is the same. they work together long and hard and it pains her to see what Koura is doing to Mitsu. In the end their friendship grows to something more but though she's falling in love with him, she refuses to believe it because she doesnt want to end up hurt again or risk messing up their plot.
how is this sounding??? would it work? D8

-grins- Yes but the romantic angle is the problem. If she is reluctant, then Mit would be EXTREMELY reluctant. Remember, he's been burned before and, even if he did trust and love someone, there is the danger that she would be killed if she was discovered. So, don't expect Mitsukai to be in 'seductive' mode.
Also, do you want to write for the Resistance since you have Rei and her brother, so you kinda have the members of the Rebellion. I could write for Mitsukai and the Empire. That way, things don't get too static.

woot! i did good *dances around* and it'll be so much fun to play around with. the good thing with ReiMei is that she's going to be completely, madly in love with him and it'll be obvious to him even though she tries to hide it (somehow nobody else seems to notice since Mitsu and her brother are the only ones that know her that well) so she wont seem to be reluctant at all! 8D then eventually her brother can just be like, "tell him you love him, or I will for you". terrified, ReiMei goes to tell Mitsu her feelings thinking that she's going to be rejected because of his being so reluctant or that they're going to get caught. she isnt afraid that he'll betray her because they're at least friends at this point and her brother would never steer her wrong~
how does that sound? would it work? and lol i know better than to think of Mitsu as seductive at first if ever, but hey, romance is romance xD
ooh, and yeah, i think thats a great idea~ 8D i'm all about being a rebel >3

He wouldn't betray her as he's had the taste of it and it has left him bitter. But he would be reluctant to love. However, the drama alone of him knowing she was a spy, a magic user, and in love with him right under 'the wolf's' nose would certainly keep things interesting.
