Summary about the Pic:Well this was a picture I recently colored out of boredom. It is based on picture I drew 3 years ago! We have Azalea from Mario Golf on the left and Princess Daisy on the right. What I try to portray is that they look alike and are close to be a mirror image of each other. But they are not the same person. Because of that, I questioned what if they met? They never been in the same game before. Azalea has only been in Three games(Mario Golf GBC, Mario Golf 64 and Mario Golf: Advance Tour) while Daisy has been in mostly Mario spinoffs barring the three golf games I mentioned. So thats why Azalea has a golf background. Daisy's background was my envision of Sarasaland, which to me is mostly a desert land. Thats why we have sand taking over and a burried Pyramid for effect.Β
My Comments:
So what if they met? Would it be like "Hi I'm Daisy and Β I like your hair!" and be friends? Or Will they have controversy as in "You stole my hairstyle you b**ch!!" and hate each other and form a rivalry?
To me if they form a rivalry, it would give Azalea some depth as a character because not much is known about her except that she was an athlete who ran track and got into golf. That's it!
(hmm... athletic...? Mario game...? I think, because of that, she would fit in other Mario sports game, especially Mario and Sonic Olympic games! I can so imagine her as a tennis or baseball player! But thats a whole other topic for a whole other day!)
The fact that a human character have a grudge with a princess would make things fun and it would be cool that have some human female that are NOT princesses.
Personally I see Daisy starting this rivalry because of her brash, loud personality. But thats just me.
So tell me what you think? What do you think would happen if they met?

Wanna hear something crazy? Azalea was actually written into the Mario canon by Camelot, as Daisy's younger sister! For unknown reasons, this was eliminated, and to date neither character has been acknowledged with this relationship by Nintendo! Top that off with how we haven't seen Azalea since 2004, around the same time we last saw the rest of the F-Zero crew save for Captain Falcon, and Samurai Goroh! ~ Afro

Well it's a shame because I believe not just Azalea but a lot of the human sports characters could've been great assets to the Mario Franchise. It's a shame that when it comes to human females, they rely on mainly Princesses and not regular people. Just now Pauline makes an appearance.

I feel as if that when Miyamoto retires, or at least has less of a hand in the Mario series, then we might get lucky and see the humans once more. We've gotten lucky by having Pauline show up in a MAIN Mario game, and to a lesser extent, even more with Daisy in Super Mario Run. ~ Afro

Certainly, they are similar in some physical aspects they're portraying.
But when itΒ comes to personality, I believe these ladies can differ...
Azalea, for one, while being an energetic golfer, is shown as cool tempered even after having lost everything.
Can't really share that opinion about Princess Daisy, althoughΒ you might end improving your game quickly.
I wish Nintendo could've given to these (forgotten) characters more depth, as they sureΒ showed a lot of promise.

I agree with that. Azalea may have a cooler head on her shoulder, while Daisy can be more of a sore loser when she loses.Β
I agree whole heartedly! It would be more fun for them to be in games than to have multiple versions of the same character at roster spots!

Exactly.
If you're a videogame company, you might end having problems after having made
collaborations with companies of the same fashion. For that same reason, I believe
Nintendo has stopped giving a loo at certain characters that have appeared through
most RPGs. Nintendo might had modeled their designs, but I think that's pretty much
it.

That might be the case.
We haven't had a Geno or Mallow since Super Mario RPG... And we havent had the human sports characters since the Game Boy Advance days. Considering they are all made appearances on Second Party games, so it would be harder for them to make reappearances...
But to me, that shouldn't stop Nintendo to at least do some negotiations to get some of these characters back into their games. I mean they appeared in the Mario universe and belong in the universe. So why not get them back?
In Mario Kart 8, having regular Peach(seriously), Baby Peach, Β then Pink Gold Peach (seriously?), then add Cat Peach as Downloadable content makes Nintendo really lazy with the rosters.

There even are characters that are supposed to belong to Nintendo, and are yet toΒ obtain a chance at mainstream games. Mainstream games will always be an average player's choice.
You know, I found cute to see the addition of baby versions of the Mario Brothers at first. Heck, even Bowser Jr. can be an adorable thing. Now it's more like a liabilty to the quality MK8 promised to have.

Honestly the only Baby version I can take is Baby Mario, Luigi and Peach. Now Daisy and Rosalina is pushing it. They made their Debuts appeared in Mario Kart Games and thats it! THe other 3 I mentioned before made their debuts in RPG games and Yoshi games. They make sense but Baby Rosalina and Baby Daisy is pushing it... And the fanservice...*sigh*...

The thing is that Rosalina's popularity grew way... too quickly.
I mostly think that Nintendo had to make the same variations for Daisy, because of the fans that hope to keep her around.

Interesting idea. If Daisy and Azalea did meet with their canon personalities. Daisy would form a rivalry. Esspecially on a track event. But would you believe my interpretation of these two are unlike any other? Such as Daisy being a scientist who gave mario a mysterious robot girl as a gift for defeating Tatanga and keeping Sarasaland safe. However... This robot child has no idea she's a robot. And despite her looking into track events and golfing. She's openly curious about the world around her. And even wonders about her origin. But all in all. Just like her "father" Mario. She tries to help her family and others around her. In her own clumsy way.

Wow that is interesting! and very original too! Mario and Robotics just seems like a combination that I personally don't see often and should be explored more.
