Nice work! I really like how you rendered the shadows especially on the nose.

Nice hair your coloring on that point has improve.
The chains a not so chainy, but I see you still gave it your effort to do so.

Is it a crime to crush on a drawing? If it were true, then I would have been to prison over and over again. LOL. The skin shading is particularly rockin and so is the hair since it looks as if it has individual strands.

I really like the piece. I like your style. I think the color scheme you chose for this piece works really well. I especially like the grays in the background, they bring out your character. I don't want to be redundant and say things you've already heard from others, what I find strange is the shadow of the chains. The chains appear to come closer to the viewer, and so do the chains. I find that unrealistic if the shadow is on the wall. The shadow should get softer (because the closer you get to the light, the softer the shadow is, the farther the light, the harder the shadow) but remain on the same plain. This is an awesome piece.

Wow Thanks for pointing out the Chains I was thinking that something was amiss with the lighting. Thanks for being honest and informative. I'll keep that in mind

Very well done. I think only two things I notice--one is I am not sure about his facial expression. Just that...He doesn't look startled or very angry or anything, so I am not sure of his emotion. The second one is the gun...the upper part of the gun looks very nice and metalic and real. The handle and trigger area of the gun looks like it belongs to a different weapon.

Other than that, it is a great piece. The colors are bold and the chains coming at him add tension (by the way, I love the chains--way better than mine!

In accordance with your recent journal entry...

PROs

- Color scheme is good > Same goes for the rest of your other deviations

- Good rendering and wise use of color textures on certain objects or surfaces

- Good proportions so far (in accordance to my preferences)

- Light reflection applied on the opposite side of the light source is very good practice and adds dimension to the subject

CONs

- Ain't sure of your intentions with your coloring style but it looks crude or rather, rushed on certain parts that is far from the focal point(face area) of the piece. Kung baga yung mga parteng hindi importante naiwanang hindi pulido.

- I'm not sure what tool you use on bright spots. But if you use the 'dodge' tool from photoshop or something similar, its not always that effective. This is due to the uncontrollable outer residues. And in this piece, the bright portions on the coat's fur is not looking good 'cause of that. Its sometimes better to use just a lighter color tone for maximized control. Tedious, but more effective.

- Not sure about your style regarding your line art if you intentionally made it look a bit sketchy/crude or if it was due to rushing it. I can't really dictate what style would make you feel at ease but having a clear line art helps bring out good harmony with all the elements you used. In this piece, some of the overlapping lines ruined your color rendering. In other words, it didn't blend well with the colors causing 'disharmony'.

Suggestions

- If you wanna try out clean line art, tracing your initial draft is the most effective method. Something best done with a lightbox. Getting used to tracing doesn't mean you'll have to trace your line art forever. Lightbox can act as some sorta 'trainer'. Keep on tracing your initial sketches and your hand's line art accuracy increases. And it'll lessen the times you'll need to re-trace a dirty line art.

- Do not draw when your hand feels stressed or begins to ache. It ruins your work and can earn you a free ticket to a hand condition which may not allow you to draw anymore.

- Illustrating after going home from a stressful day of work affects greatly your skill.

- When your mind is stressed from all that line work and digital coloring, eating a small piece of chocolate bar, drinking something really sweet and a few minutes of keeping your eyes closed can help kick you back in action.

- Music having the same theme as the subject of your artwork may help increase your productivity.

*And thats about it

Wow. Now THIS IS WHAT I want to hear Honest and straight forward! Thanks man. Hmm, I don't need to defend myself here, coz' 95% of what you've said in the cons are all the reasons that somewhat made my art "lacking" I have to learn practicing more discipline. I know I really love to rush things that's why I end up making half baked stuff. One of the things that really hit me is the lineart. I sometimes try to pass it off as style, then I realized thanks to you, it's already dragging me down. Thanks a lot dude, I WILL do my best taking into practice your suggestions

-Te te te te~n tenen ten tenen- Aki gained another Level
Like most of your pieces the details on the skin is stunning. It has this vibrant luster and nice sense of depth. He must be one healthy person. Setting that aside I've just noticed that his gloves looks a little soft. Maybe its because of the coloring. If His gloves is made of leather I think it should have somewhat sharper highlights, probably not too sharp.

Also the gun (the handle part) looks akward. The details and colors are OK, but the handle part somehow snap in between. If its part of the illustration or the story then I guess its fine. But I wouldn't whant to fire that gun at that state.

lastly ...

I can here the fan girls screaming BONDAGE !!

Hehehehe Thanks for teh insightful comment Oh yeah... I was having quite some trouble working on teh glove for some strange reason, got frustrated and left it... OTL I never seem to get the gun held properly in place lol... I guess a little more practice is needed here... as for teh last comment....
