Hey, great job on an accurate rendition of Gurney Halleck. I recently featured your art in a blog post about translating Dune to visual media (aeusoes1.blogspot.com/2016/10/cobalt-eyes-and-dark-skin-real-faces-of.html). You might also note that I recently started a podcast where IΒ read SF with sound effects and solicit skiffy art. Feel free to check it out.

Which is the EXACT reason I have come here to check out this work...

I shall have to agree with you that to date I have not seen a better rendition of Gurney around. I HAVE to present my appreciation.

In my personal view I had envisioned him as a type you can find most commonly in bars in Ireland. And his scar to not exactly start along the depressor anguli oris... But more along the extensions of the orbicularis. Not exactly like that of The Dark Knight Joker's version.. More like it was scarred by a backhand slash from a right handed guy in a knife fight and the wavy/inkvine structure of the scar was from his facial expression at the moment distorting his skin so that the straight cut would evolve in a wavey line (Also why I had it start more along the cheek).

None the less this is a WONDERFUL rendition and surpasses so many attempts I have seen to date in capturing the books depiction.

"The inkvine quivered, like a extention of Gurney's smile"
Yeah, Gurney is a interesting chap, shame he wasn't in all of the books ... like Duncan.

Really love this & the other Dune piece you did. And I *have* read the book!! Years ago, but what a deeply fascinating world.
