Description With the upcoming release of "MARVEL Vs. CAPCOM Infinite" later this year,
I decided to doodle up some wishlist fighters that have had limited appearances and/or
have just never been in any of the games in this series.
And in this case....a pair that (I fully believe) will definitely NOT be in the game

As thought about what other new fighters might be really fun to see in the game,
it occurred to me that some characters like these 2 really big guys
need not be fully playable at all.
So for this pic, I decided to make what might be a background stage instead.
In the foreground would be whatever 4 characters the players would choose,
while in the background the Zero-Gouki and the Red Ronin would be having it out.

Zero-Gouki was just a selectable mech in Capcom's old CyberBots game.
Piloted by whatever one initially chose beforehand.
Here's a YouTube video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0_ROR…
One of the weirder Gouki/Akuma appearances, but still pretty fun.

Red Ronin gave me a little more trouble.

He made his 1st appearance back in the late 70's (I think) in MARVEL's old Godzilla comic.
Obviously influenced by all those old "Super Robot" anime shows from the time,
his original still looked kinda dated (to me) even for the time.
Fortunately he's never really gone completely away,
and has already had some official MARVEL modernizing redesign done on him......
which unfortunately was not quite to my liking either.
Definitely better than the original, but still didn't do it for me.

Since he is a robot than can conceivably be continuously upgraded,
I decided that redesigning him myself would not be too far out there.
Yes I grew up on those old ShogunWarriors cartoons myself,
and tried to make him a little reminiscent of those old mechs,
but at the same time, I didn't want him to look too period either.
For this pic, I took my influences for this new Red Ronin mostly from
GunBuster and Godanar anime shows.
(I've never seen Godanar myself, but GunBuster is really great, be sure to check it out sometime)
And here we are.

Once again, I doubt either of these 2 will make it into MVCI even as a background stage.
but this is just a wishlist pic and was still really fun to do.

Watercolors and ink on bristol board with a little Photoshopping here & there.
