Colored version of a line drawing I have in here somewhere.
Still practicing with computer coloring.

I've never really liked Swoop's cartoon color scheme, so I chose to (more or less) follow the toy color scheme here.

I seem to keep getting asked why Swoop is a fembot....so I copied an pasted the original "Artist's Comments" from the original B/W lineart version here:

OK, here we go.
Ya'll may have noticed that I gave Swoop a sex change and made him a fembot instead his regular masculine robot form that 99.999% of all Transformers are.

I chose to do this for a few reasons, the biggest one simply being the low count of female Transformer characters.
I never really liked Arcee.... she had that kind of thrown-in-there feel and (to me) was never written very well.
It wasn't until Beast Wars came out before well written Transformer characters (female or otherwise) appeared.
I think a lower quantity of characters in this show also probably helped this out too.
BW was (usually) written better than the original G1 cartoon overall.

The fembot Swoop idea 1st came to me circa 1993 (give or take) when I saw the Pink Ranger terradactyl in a brand new show called "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers",
(I'm not really a fan of Power Rangers, or a fan of the whole Henshin Sentai genre, but DANG! Amy Jo Johnson is one hot tamale).
Also at this time I started reading Yukito Kishiro's manga "Battle Angel Alita".
I combined the 3 concepts in my head and put it on the back burner of my mind for a while.
Several years later, I finally brought it back up, but by this time, I also added the ninja motif too.

(No...the ninja idea did not come from, nor was inspired by Nightbird).

I added the ninja aspect after playing the Street Fighter 3 character Ibuki.
The bare feet with open toes design came from Ibuki and Alita.

Originally, I had designed her (Swoop) with feet that look like those jika boots/tabi boots/ninja boots.
However, after looking at Ibuki's character design again,
and then the various other robot and cyborg designs of Yukito Kishiro,
I decided to change Swoop's feet to this to the current look.
I think it turned out OK.
At the very least, it is unique in Transformer character design.
This is why Swoop (now) looks the way SHE does.

I suppose I'd love to see my dinobot interpretations used in official Transformers canon, but alas, I'm just a fan.
