Wow. Very nice. Love your take on the character. The padding in particular looks nice and the two shades of red really help to make it pop.

that's quite badass. shows that you can make up more serious characters, too.

Thanks a lot man.

When (or should that be if?) I get around to doing some more HeroCorp stories, there's actually going to be a little bit of seriousness brought in, especially with some characters that you wouldn't expect it with.

Very cool man, he certainly does look badass. How come you went with the dark red main colour as opposed to the black in the description? Everything is open to interpretation, I dont mind, it looks cool. Just wondered what you were thinking.

Cuz monochromatic superheroes (specially the red ones) are kick ass!

Glad you like him mate. I originally had him in just black and red, but then decided that since the description only said he was in those colours and none was the more dominant (unless of course I just skipped that part?) that I could play around with the reds a little more and keep the black to a minimal. Plus, I wanted to go in a slightly different direction that everyone else had gone in.

No, its no problem at all man. like i said, the description is open to interpretation, thats why i found the theme idea so interesting, because of gems like this that think outside the box. Nice one man.

Yeah, I wanted to go somewhere a little different with the colours than everyone else had

Was this done with illustrator?
Do you use a tablet?

striffle In reply to NuclearConvoy [2007-10-14 22:28:47 +0000 UTC]

Nearly all my stuff that I put up here and do for work is in Illustrator.

And yeah, I'm using a tablet. It's a cheaper brand, but it does the job.

I really like the crispness of the colours on all your work. It has a very clean, clear vibrancy. Sometimes things get dulled in photoshop, and pencil crayons arent backlit, lol.

Is Illustrator easy to use?

Illustrator takes a while to get the hang of, but it's a breeze once you get there. The way that I use it these days (brush tool mostly) along with a tablet is probably the easiest way to work in Illustrator. You can get very precise lines though using the pen tool (which takes a lot of practice to perfect) but I feel the other way gives my work more character and is more along the lines of how I draw traditionally.

Gotcha.
Is it affordable?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

striffle In reply to NuclearConvoy [2007-10-15 01:54:16 +0000 UTC]

It's fairly expensive I think....if you pay for it that is

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NuclearConvoy In reply to striffle [2007-10-15 04:23:52 +0000 UTC]

Well, things are easier to find if you pay for them...but vastly more cost inneffective.

striffle In reply to NuclearConvoy [2007-10-15 05:03:39 +0000 UTC]

Depends on who you know I guess. I've always been able to get my hands on stuff pretty easily.

NuclearConvoy In reply to striffle [2007-10-15 06:07:59 +0000 UTC]

Well, see, I always need to find things on my own. Took me several tries to find a good working photoshop. Now I dont even have time to fiddle with that, lol!
