Description Here it is, all finished... the reason I haven't logged on since November! I wanted to make Chris a nice warm afghan to curl up under at night, since his family can't always afford to run the heater. I used a scarf pattern from knitty.com and expanded it, and used a whole variety of different yarns, collected from different stores, including Tuesday Mornings. I had to start over two or three times cuz I kept having to redesign the stripe pattern, which is why I didn't get it done till New Years, but it was soo worth it!

Wow, pretty! I hope he likes it!

Bummer to not be able to afford to run the heater. Bad enough here when there's just no heater to run!

They have a good supply of firewood though. And you just reminded me of something I wanted to post in a journal. One of those divine intervention "chills" things!

I like the pattern and love the colors.... You must have put alot of effort into this to get the stripe pattern so perfect... tha tis with using all the different yarns and basically creating your own pattern... I love th take other patterns and change them to fit what i want to do ... then i feel like it is truely my own work and not just copying some one else.

usually when i make a stripe afgan I just pick out the colors and decided how many rows im going o do of a color at one time and I do it and just put the colors in a repating order... that way if I have to add more on then it's just a matter of getting more yarn.... you have alot more patience than i do.

Oof, hours and hours! I think I must've spent at least 2-3 hours a day, 4 or 5 days a week from early November to New Year's Day! And the agony of realizing it wasn't going to be long enough, making yet another trip to buy more yarn, redesigning the stripe pattern for the umpteenth time...! It was worth it for that reaction though... that wasn't just a "pose for the camera" thing - he really did drop his jaw like that!
