Notebook No.81: Parallels (22 DEC 2015 – 3 JAN 2016)
Cover Explanation: Another Giant Robo cover, which was meant to be a remake of the ‘Energy Blues’ cover from the previous year. Imagine my surprise when I checked the dates and discovered that I’d drawn Energy Blues on Christmas Eve, exactly one year ago from drawing this cover. Total coincidence, I swear XD As it’s a remake, it features the same characters as Energy Blues, and a similar colour scheme. I tried a few different things, and added a few more things alluding to the events in Giant Robo. It turned out even angstier than the first version XD is this my angstiest notebook cover yet?
I suppose you could say I took the original ‘Energy Blues’ and made two new covers based on it- 78, and this one; 81.
'Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still' was written and directed by Yasuhiro Imagawa, and was based on the works of Mitsuteru Yokoyama.
