Description
Alternative title: The many moods of Doctor Franken and maybe a few other dudes 8BThis is a selection of stuff from all the Tetsujin chara sketches I've done. Mostly Franken. Obsessed? Moi? There's also a couple of other charas featured here; A bunch of smarmy Murasame's, Shizuma/Dragnet, Black Ox, one portrait each for Dr. Bigfire and Shotaro. This just about wraps up my T28 fanart for this period.
Varying sketch quality, here. I either used H pencils or a black biro. The notebook cover in the middle was marker-coloured, as usual.
I finished watching the '04 Tetsujin 28 series on Thursday the 15th. Good series. The dramatics from the show have probably influenced my art here >_>
Tetsujin 28 was created by Mitsuteru Yokoyama in 1956.

I'm surprised to meet another Tetsujin fan! There seem to be so few of us around. I'm glad you like what I've uploaded here. Knowing that other fans appreciate my work is very rewarding for me :3

No problem. I'm honestly surprised to see fan art of the series since it's pretty overlooked by most. It was a real treat to find this and I look forward to seeing what other cool stuff you draw in the future.

Yeah! Yokoyama was creating manga at the same time as Tezuka, and their styles have similarities, so elements of their character designs do too.

They didn't actually work together, but Yokoyama - like many others - was very inspired by Tezuka's work and started making his own manga. Other mangaka from the same time also shared in that style.

Tetsujin 28 is the first ever giant robot manga/anime series, created in 1956 by Mitsuteru Yokoyama. It's mostly about a boy and his giant robot, Tetsujin 28, fighting baddies in postwar Japan, but the setup and story varies depending on the version (and there are a lot of versions ouo; ). The various versions aren't that well-known in the west, so I was sorta prepared for the possibility that you, among many others, might not be familiar with it. I'm just super into Franken in particular >_>;

Well, if I'm not mistaking anime in Russia appeared on TV only in 90's (I don't know when manga appeared. I think it's happened later). In my opinion in other countries it appeared earlier so in my country possibly nobody knows about it (but maybe some true anime-fans can know...).
