Bullet had done this once before, so we weren't quite as concerned this time around. There was an attitude around the farm of, "Right, Saigon is beautiful and elegant and a dream come true; this time, let's go for something wild." That's right. Tamarack Park, with this breeding, officially entered the ranks of the Krazy Kolor Breeders (UNITED WE STAND). Granted there was much deliberation over the stallion to choose, because even though the ulterior motive was to breed for a spotty foal, if the genetic dice roll wasn't in favor of spots nobody wanted the foal to have less of a shot at life because of it.

The stallion had to have a competitive record; that was standard issue for Bullet's breedings. He had to be of good size and good conformation, and he had to show some type of spotty pattern. Loki's Wager is a beautiful stallion with strong muscles and strong bones who was put together in an entirely aesthetically pleasing way. Check. Loki has a successful showing history of his own, and his parents do, too. Check, check. Loki shows a gorgeous leopard pattern. Checkedy-check McCheck from Checksville, North Checkerlina, U.S. of Check.

To guarantee color, should we have kept looking until we found a similar stallion who showed a fewspot pattern instead? Yes. Apparently, the foal's color doesn't quite matter as much as we thought.

Alternatively titled, "Possession." This whole time, I kept thinking (because Loki's a clepto) "I'll steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal youuuuu, Goaaaaaaaaaanaaaaaaaaa!"
