Personality: Orion is in no way shape or form a Pokémon trainer. He hates violence of all kinds, and avoids any conflict, responsibility or control. The Pokémon he travels with all chose Ori instead of being caught, and he can hardly be said to “train” them at all. Orion doesn’t have any Pokéballs, and sees their use as immoral, since he believes that Pokémon essentially die when placed within them. He finds the use of Pokémon in general largely problematic, and the fact that some people eat Pokémon upsets him deeply. Despite Ori’s tentative approach to life, he has been dragged into conflict all the same. Deep down, Ori has a heart of gold and will try to “do the right thing” in the face of his overwhelming anxiety.

History: A terrible mix up plunged Orion into conflict. A mysterious nefarious group in the midst of hunting a blue Mew ended up catching Pasta (Ori’s Ditto) instead, mistaking it for their target when Pasta transformed into Mew. While Ori and Asami did manage to free Pasta, stopping the agents from catching the Mew in the process, the chaotic escapade resulted in them being orphaned, and they are now hunted and on the run. It’s all he can do now to keep safe and hidden from the agents who hunt him down after he meddled in their affairs.

Other info: Orion is a weird kid. For some unknown reason he can communicate with Random, his Abra, telepathically. At first, the two would be found sleeping under a tree while Ori skipped class. Overtime they began sharing glimpses of dreams together. And now they seem to share a very close bond and can communicate without a spoken word.

Ability: Magic Guard

Nature: Timid

Hold Item: Focus Sash

Moves: Rest, Sleep Talk, Metronome, Teleport

Battle style: Preferring to evade and avoid, when required to fight, Random is just that, random. More often than not, Random stays asleep even in combat. When Random “attacks”, no one can anticipate what will happen, since their only “combat” ability is Metronome.

Other info: Random met Ori sleeping under the same tree near the Kanto School. The two bonded in their dreams, and Random finds Orion to be the only human that they have ever not wanted to immediately avoid. Random is an odd ruddy colour, has a black star on their forehead, and refuses to evolve (not that Ori has ever even considered trying).

Species: Ditto

Gender: None/any

Ability: Imposter

Nature: Mischievous

Hold Item: Life Orb

Moves: Transform

Battle style: Pasta is not much of a fighter, but they do get into trouble a lot. Pasta avoids combat by transforming into random objects and hiding out. Since Orion doesn’t really give “commands” to his Pokémon, when forced to fight, Pasta will choose the biggest mon nearby and Transform. No one knows when Pasta started travelling with Ori (he found him amongst his stuff one day), or how Pasta acquired a Life Orb. Whatever its strange properties, the Orb seems to make Pasta able to transform into very strong copies of its enemy.

Other info: Ditto escaped the same laboratories that the agents hunting the blue Mew work for. While Ori doesn’t explicitly know this, Pasta was being used for their unstable genetic material in some pretty problematic Poké-science experiments run out of the labs.

Species: Ribombee

Gender: Female

Ability: Shield Dust

Nature: Inquisitive

Hold Item: Bright Dust

Moves: Quiver Dance, Pollen Puff, Drain Kiss, Aromatherapy

Battle style: Rhubarb is a tricksy little mon. She is great at healing, but when cornered, her tiny (Drain) kisses can bring even the greatest foe down.

Other info: Rhubarb met Orion in the same fields near the Kanto School that he slept while skipping class while she was a Cutiefly. Orion’s quiet peaceful nature attracted her to him and she would bring him a flower every so often. One day, Orion gave her a flower and she evolved! The two have been inseparable ever since.
