Description When i was driving home from vacation, which we spent in France, i heard on the radio that Rutger Hauer had past away...
As a young man i saw his movies, from Ladyhawke, Flesh and Blood (to this day i still love medieval movies), to the epic Bladerunner (i'm a huge SF fan, i probably read the book before i saw the movie)...
Later i even saw Turks Fruit which contains one of the most iconic love scenes (remember the scene in the rain?).
Speaking of epic scenes in the rain: i portrayed him of a still when he speaks his last words as Roy Batty 'Tears in the rain'. Tragic fact, the movie Bladerunner takes place in the year 2019, hence Roy dies in the same year as his impersonator Rutger.
He was a great dutch actor and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace † 2019-07-19

haha, when you said you were going to do a tribute to Rutger Hauer, I KNEW you were going to do this scene!! (Well, I hoped )
I've... seen things... you "people" wouldn't believe..."
Nice watercolouring BTW!

Thanks Monty...
Well it was the most known character worldwide... I had one from when he was young with sunglasses, and a typical portrait picture, but finally Roy Batty's speech made me decide...

very!  sometimes when I'm drawing I get pains in my hand, and I flex my fingers like Roy Batty and say "Not yet!! ..Not... yet..." (I've never been tempted to shove a big nail through my hand though )

Luckily...
I feel that drawing keeps my hands flexible (as all drawers i'm afraid of the day reuma hits me...)

Blade Runner manages to be one of the most profound meditations on mortality in cinema, as well as an action film, dystopian sci-fi, police procedural and everything else.   Not sure it has ever been bettered.. although Arrival comes close I think.  (Need to see it again)

A lot of good SF has that. It makes you think about life, it's reason...

indeed;  cerebral, high-concept SF is my favourite.  (Well, I like a bit of dumb schlock on the side, lol;  I mean who doesn't? ) But recently we've had things like Arrival, Annihilation, Moon, Interstellar, Ex Machina not all of which are great movies, but all with interesting things to say

Cerberus is from Gene Wolfe...
Vance wrote a lot of short stories and Demon princes, Planet of adventure...

I've read a lot of shortstories
