SSB One-Shot - Letter - Shulk x Reader (haha requested my myself
̶f̶i̶n̶a̶l̶l̶y ̶i ̶c̶a̶n ̶v̶e̶n̶t ̶n̶o̶w

Before I start.

Out of all the fanfictions I've read, when there are big groups of characters with the same occupation (like the Vocaloids), they all live in this giant mansion thing. I'll do that too. *~* But I absolutely hate being a copy cat.

You paced left to right in your own personal room, the walls decorated with many hues of (favorite color), sticking to those walls were pictures of you and all the brawl charaters. 'It's that time again.' You thought. At a very special time, who knows how it's selected, a new batch of characters enter the mansion for brawling. Last night, (I'm going to make Master Hand the leader here, I have no other ideas, sorry T_T) Master Hand announced that another character is joining. You loved new characters. You made great friends with Rosalina, and her adorable luma. You got along decently with Dark Pit. More brawlers means more brawls (which you absolutely loved doing). You took out your (type of sword weapon), and polished it. You grinned, using the sword's blade as a mirror. You decided to get a snack. You walked out the door into the massive hallway, littered with more doors left to right. You glanced at the empty room that was next to yours. 'Huh... It's.. Occupied now?' You thought, walking up close to the door. 'Whose room is this?' You read the new gold lettering. 'Shulk..? Maybe that's the new character!' You grinned, excitedly. Suddenly, that very door opened and the door crashed into your face. "Auughh..." You were sprawled out on the floor, rubbing your face. "Oh, I'm so sorry about that!" Above you, there was a male about your age, with slightly shaggy blonde hair. He offered his hand, and you took it. "You must be Shulk." You grinned, Shulk helping you up onto your feet. "That's right, I'm Shulk!" He shook your hand, before letting go. You noticed a broad, giant red sword on his back. "Wooah!" You said, in awe of what was on his back. Expirementally, you touched the blade. "So sharp... Does it have a name?" You asked him. "Ah, that's the monado!" You noticed he had a light english accent, which added to his cuteness. "Oh, wow... It looks so powerful.. I'd love to brawl with you sometimes~" You said, looking at your feet, trying to hide your blush. Shulk was... Cute. "Same here! Uh, hey... Mind showing me around this place? To be honest, I just got here." He scratched the back of his neck, a light pink dusted on his cheeks. "I'd love to! I was going to get a snack first, so I'll do that quickly." "Oh, and one more thing. What's your name?" He asked, you lead him down the hall. "(Y/N), (Y/N) (L/N)."

Shulk sighed, and murmured: "(Y/N)... A beautiful name for a beautiful person."

"What was that, Shulk?" You asked, turning left into the next hall. He just blushed. "It's nothing."

--Time skip, one year later.--

From then on, you and the monado wielder became the best of friends. Sure, you both have had your ups and downs, but they all resulted in you two getting even closer. Brawl after brawl, you two trained together, practically did everything together. This led to much teasing from the other brawlers.

Everyone in the mansion was having dinner, Shulk sitting to your left, Rosalina (your 2nd best friend) to your right. You were in a small daze, watching Shulk. He noticed you watching him, and he shot a charming smile at you, and you blushed, turning the other direction. Rosalina sniggered at you, and you lightly punched her arm. "You really like him, don't you?" Rosalina whispered, her luma dancing around in the backround. "Y-ye- No.." You stuttered, shoving some broccoli smothered with ranch into your mouth. You slowly chewed, waiting for Rosalina to reply. "I know you do. Oh, come on! Can't you trust me?" Rosalina said, her face looking hurt. You sighed, and murmured a small "Yes.." Rosalina grinned and squealed, and the room went silent. All attention was on Rosalina. "Nothing important, please go back to dining." She politely said, before resuming your conversation. "You should ask him out!" She whispered to you, and you blushed at the thought. "That would be nice.... But, no. A person as amazing as him can't like me." You whimpered. "Oh, (Y/N)... After all this time... You're so oblivious." Rosalina chuckled, and lightly bonked you on the back of your head. "What do you mean?" You asked. "Remember that time he got you that flower?" She said.

--Flashback--

Outside, there was a beautiful pavillion, flowers growing outside it. All types of flowers, all types of colors. You smelled (favorite flower), and smiled. Shulk happened to see this, and picked one of those very flowers, and hid it behind his back. He poked your back, surprising you. "Eek!" You turned around. "Oh, it's you, Shulk!" You grinned. "Wassap?" You asked, and he presented the flower to you. "Something sweet for someone sweet." He said, blushing. But he didn't dare avert his eyes to the ground. You blushed harder, your cheeks a darker hue of a cherry blossom. "Thank you!" You said, hugging him. He tightly squeezed you. However, Rosalina saw (and heard) the whole thing. She was going to ask if you wanted to get a snack with her.
But, with that display, Rosalina was fangirling.
The entire time.
--Flashback end--
You blushed, and smiled at the memory. "Wait, how do you know about that?!" You firmly whispered, raising an eyebrow at her. "I have my ways." Rosalina said. "Well, (Y/N), I'm going to go take a bath. Seeya!" Shulk said, standing up. "Alright, seeya later!" You smiled, and he blushed. Rosalina nudged you and smirked, you just shrugged and rolled your eyes.
--Shulk--
Shulk wasn't going to take a bath. Shulk locked his door as he went in. He hung up the monado, and sighed, and plopped down on his couch. "I want to confess..." Shulk said to himself, writhing in self-pity. He wanted to confess to (Y/N) that he liked her, so very badly. He had to confess before another brawler does. He swore he saw Dark Pit's eyes lingering on you one day (*cough* and Shulk got jealous). But, Shulk was too afraid. What if he got rejected? But, then again, what if another brawler gets to you first...? Shulk, being frustrated, punched a dummy in the corner in his room. He just wanted to let the feeling that he had for you loose. Then, he had an idea.
'I'll write a letter!'

You were coming back from training with Rosalina, you went down the hall that lead to your room 'Huh, why is Shulk outside my door?' You thought, freezing in place. "Oh, (Y/N). I.. Love you so much.." He said, placing the letter on your door mat. "Shulk?" You said, your face a deep red hearing his words. His face turned to meet yours, his eyes widened. He ran into his room, and locked it. You pressed your ear to his door; you heard Shulk crying. "...Shulk? Let me in!" You said, knocking on his door. "I can't hear you!" He said, trying to block out the noise. You grunted, and went into your room, grabbing your trusty sword. You cut a hole in his door, and cornered Shulk. "(Y-Y/N), I-" You cut him off, pressing your lips to his. Shulk realized what was happening, and happily kissed back.
*******Epilogue*******
You and Shulk were cuddling on his couch, you were just about to read the note Shulk left on your door mat.
'Dear (Y/N),
You're the most beautiful, awesome, and friendliest person I've ever met. Ever since I've met you, I've had this feeling. I couldn't deny it was love. Love for you, (Y/N)... I love you.

You finished reading it outloud, and squeezed Shulk as tightly as you could, and pecked his cheek.

"I love you too."

Done! I think the letter was a bit sucky, but other than that, I'm proud.
Shulk needs more attention D: I don't see that much Shulk x Reader out there :'''(
