Description
I loved the original "Inspector Gadget" cartoon as a kid and found myself randomly in the mood to draw Penny and Brain the other day.So here we go!
Little did I know as a kid that Penny's fantastical "Computer Book" would one day be more or less an actual thing!

That is an interesting issue!
How old IS that thing?!
Although, even if it is working off of outdated hardware and software, it DOES have a laser!
That is hard to beat even today!

True. Not enough lasers on our modern smart gadgets...

It's amazing what inventions we all predicted in our older decades (Penny's computer book) vs. what actually came instead (a touch-screen Tablet).

Ha ha, aww I think this image is rich. I've been writing an IG fan fiction novel trilogy for a while, and early into writing it, I stated that Penny used a tablet computer.

Penny was definitely ahead of her time!

We need one.
They made a computer watch recently. AND GUESS WHAT THEY USED DURING THE MONTOGUE!

Well, technically iPads and tablets are computer books. So we do have them now...they're just not quite as cool because they don't look like a real book the way Penny's did.
And yes, we do have watches now too. Inspector Gadget was clearly ahead of his time....

True, it's not the same without the disguise.

Technology has goneΒ beyond what we once thought was possible. It's amazing to think that Penny's computer notebook has been outdone now... less than 30 years from the time it was imagined.
Pretty much allΒ the futuristic things I saw on Beyond 2000 have already become outdated.

It's odd you say that; seeing how I just finished up watching a 1hr and 40min long video about Homey Airport [KXTA] (aka Area 51).

Thank you! I have such a soft spot for those characters from my youth. Glad to know I've done them justice.
