I want to start out by saying this work means very much to me, and I want to ask of you to keep that in mind while commenting. Thank you.

I spent quite a while on this, and it embodies some of my more intense thoughts of late.

Self-injury (SI) or self-harm (SH) is deliberate injury inflicted by a person upon their own body without suicidal intent.

As some of you know, I'm having a rough time lately, and this is my way of calming down.

The butterflies. They represent my dreams, emotions and hopes, trapped and locked. Right now it seems as if they are.

The beads. Pretty little things in my own dream world where I escape to more and more often.

The scars. I used a tutorial here on dA to make them - they speak for themselves. No other information about it.

The free butterfly. The hope my dad's going to get better and the bit of emotions I dare let in.

The sky. The way my emotions are now, and how my life is anything but calm.
