Description
So years ago, I had an idea for a fanfic in which Ranma gets a hold of the rocket pack from the Rocketeer movie (remember, the mechanic did have that schenmatic he made, another one could have been built) and became the new Rocketeer. However, the idea fell apart on a structual level because when you think about it, there's no way Ranma would ever take up a costumed identidy. But, the idea stuck in my head., so maybe this will get it out.----------
. . . wow, did I ever screw the pooch on this. Coloring and design wise, I mean. At first I was gonna give him Secord's outfit from the movie, then realized that Ranma wouldn't wear something like that, then put him in his usual kung fu gear and was gonna add Martial Arts safety gear, then wondered if Ranma's ever actually worn safety gear other than a gi, and even the helmet would have been an uphill battle. Then, I started to color the shirt, then remembered how cool it looked when Batman: The animated Series switched to a red sky for night, and so started using the red for shading, and of course, you can still see the so called non-repro blue pencil lines. Bah.

Heh, not a bad idea.
Yeah, Ranma couldn't give a crap about a secret identity, but given the right setting, Ranma in the famous rocket pack could be an interesting idea, especially since Ranma's specialty is mid air combat.
The concept of Rocketeer might have been a little silly, but I think it was a really well made film and a really good modern action adventure. One of the most underrated films I've seen.
Seth McFarlane is an unfunny asshole. As far as I go, McFarlane can take his humor and go to hell.

Pretty much. Hell, the only reason I know of for Ranma to assume a costumed identidy was to screw with Ryouga or to win a martial arts fight for some specific reason. Like, Martial Arts Play Performance or whatever. I suppose he might put the pack on to go get one of the girls back from some sky kingdom or whatever, but that's about all I can think of. Like I said, the idea falls apart on a structual level once you start giving it some thought.

Yes, I'm well aware of Seth's McFarlane's opinion. As it happens, my opinion of McFarlane is that he's not funny and is using Family Guy as his own personal soapbox.
