I wouldn't expect to see a Suchomimus with feathers, especially in this manner. Being its snout wasn't designed for hunting in the cold, nor it's body shape, or even its claws. This predator was most likely as much a fisherman as the Spinosaurus was.

Assumption, based upon reoccurring evidence. I'm not saying it's a bad piece, I like it, it's creative. But its not as scientifically accurate as the animal could be. That's all I'm saying.

Thanks. I've always thought that going out of the limb of reasonable speculation in paleoart to be a good thing. we have no skin impressions from a Spinosaur to the best of my knowledge, although I believe there may be some Baryonx trackways, so we really don't have any more evidence for them being scaly than we do for them being fluffy. So again, I would have to agree to disagree with you as far as scientific accuracy is concerned. I do however fully admit it's unconventional, unsupported, and no reason to think it was likely either. I like to change things up, I like to do different possible restorations for the same animal as well, so it's quite likely I'll do it a bit different next time, perhaps scaly!

Excellent illustration, I especially liked how you worked with the colors, contrasting the yellowish animal with the bluish ground and branches!

Never thought I'd like a feathered Suchomimus, but you've done the beast justice. Great painting!
