An old diesel shunter spotted at Shildon recently. Made by Rowntree & Co and bearing the legend 'No.3' on its side.Related content

This little Ruston was, as the legend on the top of the bonnet says, used around the Rowntree chocolate factory site, for hauling wagons around the site.

Maybe an old mine shunter, designed to take stupidly tight curves that no other loco could manage. Definitely an industrial shunter, I'm not aware of any Ruston products that were sold to BR.
