I felt inspired by the old Japanese and Chinese landscape paintings so I decided to do an illustration based off of that inspiration.Related content

This picture is outstanding and I am amazed that you have so few reviews on it!! The story you tell in this and the mysterious mood is wonderful. The expression on her young, pretty face and the way she holds that lantern tells us that she's quite concerned about just what may be lurking in these woods, so far from the village that we see sillouetted in the background. And we wonder is she treading on 'sacred ground' she ought not or is she worried about the Japanese equivalent of the Big Bad Wolf?
But we are not too worried as we see she has a big powerful friend to protect her. Although, he looks a bit worried too. And judging by his size in comparison to her he just may be quite young too.
The lighting here is so fantastic! With that faint yellow lanternlight the only illumination in this purple dusk.
You definately make me want to hear the story behind this!

very nice , she looks a bit shot legged but it may be cause of the outfit ,overall it's very nice ,lighting , compo material rendering , very good!
