Description
Sometimes she watches the birds in the sky,
And wonders to herself- how do they fly?
Is it their wings of soft feathery gold,
Or their hearts free of the sadness she holds?
The one that she loves fading beyond her reach,
As the mist disappears on the sunlit beach.
"Wait 'til nightfall for me, love,
Wait 'til the stars are shining in the sky above."
So she waited each day and all through each night,
Waiting for her love so she could hold him tight.
Though the world slowly changed and time went on by,
She waited and waited without even a sigh.
Then came the day when black turned to gold,
Like those birds she used to love to behold.
She finally saw him floating down from above,
On wings feather white, like those of a dove.
"I see you waited for me, darling, are you ready to go?"
To where they went, nobody will know.
