getting that close to a good Pyro is dangerous. Just spin and flame everyone(pony) before airblasting open an exit. Then shotgun/flare while retreating or until dead. Make sure to focus on the Medic first or it'll all be for not.
Also I'm not entirely sure Spike would make a good fit for Soldier. He doesn't really match the Soldier in anyway that I can tell. In my opinion, Derpy would probably make a good fit for Soldier, as fans generally perceive her as having a loose grip on reality, like the Soldier does. Manly Spike would make a great Saxton Hale though.

*nods* Well against a Pyro, there is one advantage of a sniper, if s/he has Jarate equipped. Though that would mean sacrificing the SMG, which is really useful when at close range like that (and the fact that melee against Pyro is pretty much suicide).
