Description
4th working day! (I had to skip a day to let the under-painting dry properly)3/29: Sketch demarcating light and dark areas
3/30: Burnt umber underpainting, with the brightest area being the white of the canvas
3/31: Completion of underpainting
4/1: [ Drying ]
4/2: Dryly scrubbed on Titanium White on top of the Burnt Umber to heighten the contrast
4/2: (cont.) Completion of white-painted layer; altered a lot of the facial structure and the formation/fleshiness of her cheek; retouched the eyebrows and the nose, the mouth, etc.
I'm happy with the way this is turning out.
16x20in Canvas
W&N Oils (Burnt Umber and Titanium White)
After a little more tweaking and once it dries, I'll probably start with the glazing of flesh-tones.
