No problem! It would be nice to see that animation!
Far as I know you can submit the *.gif animation in the same way as you submit pictures.
Then just choose a preview image for the *gif and submit it into the animation category. It should work!

My guess is Colored pencils? And if so, I am envious! amazing mixing on the green and blue areas at the bottom of the 'lungs' and where they transform into the stars. Beautiful composition you have here
