I came to a revalation not too long ago. How is it that in all great French literature there's a guy wiht physical diforimity but he really isn't all that bad, then he fall in love with a girl who can't see past that and she runs off with some pansy!

Anyway so this is the suport group that they all meet up at.

Quasimodo, Cyrano de Bergerac and Erik

I swear at the end of those books you really hate those chicks!!!

I see you also made the connection between the three! I actually have a small novella out called "The Broken Bards of Paris" where I bring these guys together. The audiobook is being produced as we speak.

Immediate favorite. God, it must just be a French thing, huh? XD So word of advice: If you have a deformity and live in France, GET OUT OR YOU WILL NEVER FIND LOVE.

Actually, the real Cyrano de Bergerac was extremely proud of his nose and was a NOTORIOUS womaniser.

I know he was proud of it. It was just mostly for the irony of the comic.

I noticed that in the middle of the night when I was little, I've hated the endings ever since. I never blame the girls though, I blamed the alternative love interest for existing in a way that distracts them from the guys who deserve love. Honest to goodness, these girls simply have terrible taste in men. And I also noticed that they ALWAY live in France. I'm going to go seethe now.

SubduedMoon In reply to ChildofVainFantasy [2010-04-27 20:42:12 +0000 UTC]

I know. I don't blame the girls either. Its just always the guys they pick have the personality of a toothpick -_-

Wow Quasi and Erik in the same room. I have never thought of such a thing until now. They would have a good converstions ahead. If they ever left the bell tower and under the opera house.

Don't know the guy in blue, but the concept of this is SO TRUE. Brilliantly illustrated.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

SubduedMoon In reply to greycanbehappy [2009-02-03 03:15:04 +0000 UTC]

They guy in the blue is Cyrano de Bergerac. He's from a french play where basically the girl he loves is completely oblivious to his feelings, and she's in love with a total pansy, so Cyrano writes love letters for him to give to her, and the girl ends up marrying the other guy. It's a really cute story though.

Thank you ^^

Wow, talk about getting screwed. "Support group" reminded me of many reasons I don't like Hunchback of Notre Dame (the Disney version--it's the only version I've seen).

The only things I DID like in the movie was the soundtrack and that Disney at the time had the balls to actually include religion. I miss that.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

SubduedMoon In reply to greycanbehappy [2009-02-04 01:08:14 +0000 UTC]

I know the sound track was great!!! And I agree with you about the religion thing, the only downside was that it made the church out to be the villian...

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

greycanbehappy In reply to SubduedMoon [2009-02-04 03:43:35 +0000 UTC]

I guess it could be interpreted that way. Hadn't thought of it before, because I separated Frollo in my mind as a perverted and evil fanatic.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

SubduedMoon In reply to greycanbehappy [2009-02-04 05:10:43 +0000 UTC]

True. I keep forgetting about that one good priest that saves Quasi and helps Esme, it's just one of those fine lines you know.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

greycanbehappy In reply to SubduedMoon [2009-02-04 16:18:35 +0000 UTC]

He's from a play called Cyrano de Bergerac. It's really good. It made me cry.
