Great man and it's sad by the end of this decade, they're going to be gone.
If it wasn't for people like him, we'd be the slaves to the Axis Powers and many don't appreciate what hell these folks went through.
I try to thank every veteran I can even if I'm working at Cub Foods.

Great shot. Thanks for putting this up here. People sometimes forget the sacrifice our men and women have given to our country. This is a great reminder, well done.

...and thank *you* for recognizing this. My grandfather was also a POW in WWII and for that, he is one of my all time heroes!

I really love this one
here is so much character in his face! I'm sure every line and wrinkle tells a story, and probably some pretty awful ones, but still he smiles.
I you, Colonel Luther Prunty!

Man, the conditions those guys lived in for so long are unthinkable Thank God some of them made it out alive to tell their story. As horrible as the stories are, they're definitely something people need to hear and NEVER forget, and hopefully be able to prevent ever happening again, and that goes for all the war atrocities from Hitler to Hussein. Maybe someday the world can be at peace.

Very nice. I'm really liking the amount of veterans stuff you're sticking up, theres not much going on about them any more... This November I hardly saw anyone with a poppy (Brits buy paper poppies to raise money for soldiers and their families affected by war and wear them around november 11th)

Wish I'd done something this year, but was swamped with coursework on the day that stuff was happening.
I remember when I was a kid, me and my mum were walking down the street and suddenly everyone stood still like wherever they were walking and were silent for a minuite, some cars even parked. And it was because it was 11:11am 11/11. And it was completely spontanious, I think its rubbish how now, even with the current wars and people being brought back in coffins all the time, that somehow we've lost that level of respect as a society.
Anyway, thats my daily rant of "T'was better in my day!"
