This is definitely a gorgeous and well thought out shot. I have a soft spot for dock shots at sunset, they're usually instantly beautiful. This one kind of reminds me of the dock in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" for some reason....
The soft and calm colors were brought out really well in this shot, completing the piece and mood. Both frailty and former strength are seen in this. Also has a nice almost "vanishing point" effect to it as well as a good shift in focus from a semi-blurred background to a focussed foreground (only in the most subtle senses).

The line created by the spiles and the reflection in the water look wonderful. Because of the lighting the scenery seems to be very peaceful. Awesome photo, Jake!
