Then Samson called to the LORD and said, "O Lord GOD, please remember me and please strengthen me only this once, O God, that I may be avenged on the Philistines for my two eyes."-Judges 16:28
I always thought the story of Samson was rather sad. Here is a man whose exterior strength was unrivaled but who lacked the inner strength of character and mind; which ultimately led to betrayal, public humiliation, the loss of his eyes, the loss of the Lordβs favor, and his death.

i love the story of Samson. i think it's one of the greatest stories in the old testament. what a beautiful depiction of that moment

great piece of art, love the style.
samson is almost always portrayed as a hulking figure (for the benefit of our visual association i suppose) but personally, i enjoy imagining him as very 'non-olympian' in physique, perhaps even scrawny. after all, it wasn't his muscles that gave him his strength, and having an unassuming appearance in reality would only underscore that.

I agree with the unassuming figure as well. Always how I've imagined him.
I also always see his story a little differently. He was in my opinion simply a hopeless romantic with not enough understanding of what it meant to be him until the end. Kinda goes with my image of him being a little on the scrawny, kinda stereotypical poet type figure.
