I don't like the PNG format that much as it changes the colors. If you drag a PNG into Candybar, the folder icon looks quite different than after draging from a Photoshop PSD or TIF file. Even the colors in the PNG file itself look already quite different from the colors in the PSD file.
By the way:
With candybar you can drag a folder, PNG, PSD, TIF files (and some more) into the application and it stores the folder icon or creates and stores them and you can export any of your folder icons into any of the above formats. And on top of it, you can manage, organize, sort all your icon and replace your original system icons with the ones you like quite simple ... just a great and very handy little tool.
