I highly suggest this fic to anyone who loves the relationship between Pearl and Rose. Be it romantic in your head or not. It’s really canon-compatible level. This fic deserves to be read by a wider audience range than just Pearlrose shippers. It’s THAT good.

I don't know the fan fiction genre but I really appreciate how you've captured the shattered emotions/sobbing of the child/young adult and the sense of enveloping comfort of the adult by the surrounding arms and hair and how it gives a total sense of comfort. Well done!

Pearl (the small one) is not a child, though. These character don't grow or age like humans. bbbbuuuutttt, Rose (the big one) is undoubtedly more "adult-like" than her. So I'm glad you get that impression because it's accurate!
Pearl feels safest when she's with Rose. She's been with her for at least 5000 years. this is where she belongs. But Rose have just told her she's about to die in less then 9 months because she decided to give birth despite the fact that she can't survive the birthing. and... yea... ;_;

It's kind of a canon-compatible kind of fic. There's no such thing as overt romantic stuff. The author never write it directly. The fic's main point is how Pearl had changed as a character from when Rose was still there and compared to her now. Only a few later chapters will talk about how Pearl strongly (and emotionally) disagree with Rose giving up her physical form. She wants her to stay.
in this scene, it's chapter 4. where she first burst in anger and sadness when Rose informed her of her plan to have Steven, then Garnet talked her into supporting Rose. to quote Garnet "You have the rest of your life to be angry and confused. You only have the rest of hers to show your support." much later, Pearl went to Rose and vowed to protect her son. but Rose will have none of it and invite Pearl to hug her instead of finishing her vow. Pearl run into her arms and cried ugly sobs.
That's the closest Pearl-Rose scene there is in there. I think you will enjoy it. but that's up to you if you want to check it out or not.

i might check it out. It is reasonable that Pearl would freak when she realized that Rose was not eternal anymore. And after all shes done to protect her.....

Yes. Poor Pearl. After all she's done to protect Rose, there is this one thing that she cannot protect her from. And 9 months isn't that long at all compared to the thousands of years they've all spent together on Earth, not counting pre-Earth time. It must be devastating.
XD I particularly love how the author write Garnet. ... pretty much everyone are in character.
