Prompt: Draw a pony defying impossible odds / Draw a pony finding their inner courage.

You know, I don't think we talk about Thorax enough. I think he fulfills both prompts - imagine being in a hive mind culture where everyone is your family and you are considered a traitor for not agreeing with the queen - and you decide to leave. You decide you don't like what they're doing, what they stand for, and you run away. Even knowing that you will never be able to be yourself in pony society, you want to try something different - you saw friendship, and it made you brave enough to venture out into the world, sneaking past the queen's guards and bringing only a small knapsack of nourishment with you. It's possible you'll starve if you don't get love, but you have to try because anything would be better than the life they're making you live. And then after that, you go head to head with the queen! And you show everyone they can do things differently, that they don't need to be the drones she molded you into. You can live, and you can even thrive.

Anyway, Thorax is pretty cool. Wish we could have seen more of his journey in his main season, like realizing that he wasn't hungry after making friends. And I do with his transformation had been less...over the top. It was weird going from like the adolescent figuring himself out to a whole ass bug adult with the same squeaky voice - I think it would have been better if he'd stayed the same size but maybe got an extra accessory like a crown antenna or something that none of the other changelings had to differentiate him as the leader.

Anyway, this was supposed to be a quick on but of course I overdid it and it's hours later. Fun fact, a hobo's knapsack is called a bindle. Thorax fashioned one out of a cocoon.
