so uhhh surprise?

this was drawn last week, before the whole Pony Life bombshell was announced. the toy line was revealed and I actually really liked their designs! (which you can find here: www.amazon.com/My-Little-Pony-…)  i thought they were cute and kind of geometrical, so I wanted to draw the new character in what I thought the new design might look like. oh, how wrong I was.

so if you've seen my twitter, you know that I'm not fond of the G4.5 designs (especially the animation). I know everyone says to give it a chance and I will, but I'm also willing to wait till G5 if it turns out to be not that great.

i'm interested to see what Potion Nova looks like in the Pony Life series and if I was close at all! i went with a twisty hairstyle because there wasn't an indication of what her mane might be, so I went with how the toy's hair looked. I adore her color scheme and her cutie mark is very interesting. so for now just think of it as an AU Nova Potion until the real thing comes along. and maybe I'll do other ponies in this style in the future!
