Edit 10/24/17: Shading improved, colors in mane/mane lines switched as per the movie, scales changed from hexagons to circles. Sparkles in eyes and bubbles added. Reference used: vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/ml…Wow, I was so excited about this that I finished it in an afternoon!
I really like the designs of the seaponies from the movie. I like that their tails are their...tails/manes instead of standard mermaid tails, and that their cutie mark isn't just slapped onto their flank like I've seen a lot. It really gives a lot of diversity to the ponies instead of just swapping out their color schemes. I attempted to emulate the movie style with transparent pupils and soft shading, and I hope I did it justice! Her hair looks pretty much the same, but I tried to make it look more floaty like it would be in the water.

I don't see them as washed out, I see them as lightened. I think her old colors were too jarring and half the time the yellow looked like an ugly green/yellow abomination instead of the bright sun yellow it was supposed to be. I really like her new colors, but I know everyone has their own opinion.

Are you kidding me? The new color that used to be yellow now looks an ugly green, not the other way around. Her original colors looked bright, but these new colors are just really dull.
