I remember this part from the original Lorax cartoon! You did a really good job showing his two different sides here, and I especially like how you made his bad side smoke like he did in the original!

Nope, he didn't smoke in the movie. But that monologue is from the old TV version of the Lorax, which I really loved when I was little. In thats scene Once-ler sort of imagines another of himself and has that lovely little chat. And they smoke, so that was a bit of an allusion to the old show.

well Dr. Suess never showed the once-lers face because the once-ler was mysterious. Was it some monster doing all these horrible things or just another person? I like the new movie's once-ler so much more. He humanises the problem and so looks so fine in dat suit. Sexy beanpole ftw!
