'Zounds, you've done your homework! Congrats on your airsoft research skills. BTW, I know my figure isn't incredibly accurate, but whatever, Activision's snipers aren't accurate either. He shouldn't have any pouches or a holster attached to his body at all, really, because of the risk of becoming hung up on the environment when in a stalk, but should be carrying a drag bag. The pants on my figure shouldn't be bloused, either, and he shouldn't have a hydration tube sitting over his shoulder.

I liked the armor on the base figure I used (McFarlane Toys Marine RCT), so I kept that. I modded the figure a lot, resculpting the shotgun shells in loops on his vest w/sculpted pockets. The balaclava is another addition, as are the gloved hands (used to be bare), which should be textured, though I didn't care to detail them so minutely. The ghillie material I used is painted jute, which is really just a fancy name for burlap. It was left over from the ghillie suit I've been making, which is functional but incomplete at this time. I still need to get some appropriate reinforcing fabric for the front. I'll put up some pics when I'm done.

I'll keep on the lookout for your completed Cpt. MacMillan, should be sweet. Some of the details of his gear were unknown to me, like the LED light. I can't remember him using that in the game, so I'll have to go back and play my favorite mission

Btw, I wrote this STAN, cause i thought you didn't know what McMillan aktually wears.
Except of this, someone else could use these informations too.
And yes, as I said I like your work anyway, and it's very well done, I'm impressed

Yup, you're damn right. The pouches are absolutly wrong. The pouches are ineffective and would disturbe the stalk very much. You propably will have the half forest soil in the pouches
But as an airsoft player the pouches do make sense for me. I'll keep them on my haunch so they wont disturbe me during the crawling. They are usefull for the gas bottle and some extra clips I will take with me. The canteen will be displaced by a "camelbak" and will be attached only for posing

The LED had no function in the game. But the real one has some usefull stuff. For exampfle, only red light in darkness to avoid blending yourself with white light.

Well, I also displaced the USMC knife with an Austrian glock knife. It has an olive drab sheath and haft.

I know, there are many many versions and kinds of ghillie suits out there. The best way is to make one on your own as you do it too

Im going to make some pictures of my unfinnished ghillie suit.

By all means, it's good information. Your suit should come out looking something very close to Cpt. MacMillan. Good luck.

I've uploaded some pics of my suit on my devart page and in my scraps, btw. The scraps are interesting to me because of the way my suit blends in different light.

I don't think badly of airsoft players. I wish airsoft was a bigger sport around where I live so I could really test my ghillie suit's effectiveness.
