Light just find another computer and transfer your data to it ...even if your drive died you can still access the data

No, really, I'm sorry your computer died - did you get a chance to back it up? Otherwise (and if it's not your hard disk that gave up the ghost) you can buy an external disk casing, take out the old pc's hard disk and put it in there and run it as an external hard disk on your laptop - then everything will be there and you can transfer what you need to the laptop.
Following which you will have an external hard drive which you can use for regular backups!!!

It's nothing frightening or difficult, honestly! And it will mean you can regain access to all your params and programmes. Maybe there's a nice local computer shop where you could ask them to do that?
