Thanks man! I had to try and keep it simple for printing but at the same time get as much detail in as I could get away with

It said in the description you used 3D printing? What's that like? I know it's relatively new technology, but I didn't know the public could use it

All I had to do was design the models upload them and make sure nothing was wrong with them using a program from Shapeways. They took about a week to get to me after printing.
You need to make sure nothing is too thin and things like that and make sure nothing is free floating from the models, because they won't print it. They will tell you wants wrong with them tho if there's a problem so that's good.
The level of detail I went for it costs a lot but it was worth it.
The company I used was www.shapeways.com.
All models were for my final major project in UNI.

Here's a link to my University Blog, which tracked my progress throughout my FMP, detailing some of the design processes I went through, problems I encountered and how I overcame them.
I hope you may find it of some interest. - makingwarhammer.blogspot.co.uk…

How long did it take you for the modelling and printing process? Ohh, so I guess it's not your printer? XD
What are you studying in university? o:
Ahh cool, I'll take a look!

the whole project was 3 months, so I had just less then a month per model after looking into everything. I made the test model in a less then a week and a few days then on top of that to fix any problems and things. My concepts suffered a bit but I had a fairly good idea what I was going for apart from the last model I did the Grunt I just made that up on the fly. Haha nah man not my printer a good res printer costs something like half a mill or more haha. I was doing a video game art and design degree finished last month with a 2.1 . I was the only person to ever do something that different but I knew after the 1st year that I didn't want to work on games, so I aimed it towards something I really do want to do so I can try for jobs at Games Workshop as part of the design team

Was it hard work doing something like that? I mean, I know the projects can be a drain, especially if it isn't something you've done before. Ahh cool! Haha, on the contrary for me, I intend on working as a games concept artist, although ultimately I'd like to work at Dreamworks designing characters and environments for them. Dayumn, half a million? Well, I suppose you're lucky enough to use one, your models look great! I had a look at your site and they all look very professional.
I wish you luck in getting to where you want to be! I'm sure it'll be difficult, but as long as you keep going you're sure to reach it in the end.
