About the picture: I'm aware of Fullmetal Alchemist. But I've only seen the first anime, and while I loved it, that means I'm really out of the loop on the real canon. I want to see it/read it, but I haven't had time.
So I needed some research to get this done. Like I didn't know all the story behind these two, or about 'protecting eachother's back'. Also, I've never seen Riza in a dress, and had to cover her back, so I ended up designing my own gown. This SUCKED because all the gown refs I looked at were like... tubes. GET CREATIVE, GOWN DESIGNERS. Goddamn.
Anyway. I had more to say, but I think I'll just make a journal about it later.

Oh, wowwww. This is beautiful! First of all, I love how these two look in your realistic drawing style. It's nice to see them in a style like this for a change. Second, I really love the coloring, particularly in Riza's dress. She looks so pretty in navy and white. And she looks incredibly classy in that style of dress. Roy looks dashing and handsome in his tux as well. I also love how they seem so happy and lighthearted, like they're simply enjoying the evening together and dancing the night away. Adorable.

I personally think when an artist does fanart, it's more pleasant for everyone if they use their own unique style. I love seeing how a character translates into different styles, personally. It's part of why I love fanart- both seeing and drawing.
I tried my best to make an appropriate and also pretty dress for her- he was a bit easier, as he actually has some suits in canon to work from.

You did a great job on Riza's dress, seeing as the manga didn't really provide you with any ideas for dress designs. I can see why Roy was easier because of what you mentioned about him having suits in canon. He usually wears suits as his civilian clothing.
