The recent video blog of Watchmen made me all gooey with excitement when I saw this scene
Obviously I removed the camera from the still and the composition in the film might not end up like this but I still felt the need to paint it.You can find it on the Watchmencomicmovie.com website:

If you ever plan on calling Rorschach 'Squidgy face' make sure that:
a. You're wearing fast running shoes
b. You have a can of beans handy with which to distract him with....or...
c. You don't mind picking out shards of glass out of your hand for the rest of the evening.
'Stupid' is what Rorschach says to the man. Can't say I blame him.

Now despite having seen this scene and knowing it as the style of Rorschach, At first glance and from a distance, I mistook the ponytailed degenerate's whine of discomfort for a moan of passion and Rorschach grinding glass against bone for the two clasping hands. I laughed of course, but then I just felt uncomfortable. I'm sorry if anyone else now feels that same discomfort now, especially the artist, who did a wonderful job.

the depth in this is stunning. i really admire your use of acrylics, especially in this one. : O so jealous. this makes me a little more interested in reading Watchmen, only being recommended to me by one person thus far. seems like I'm really missing out

It's such a great story, filled with utterly brilliant characters. For a couple of years after spotting a panel of rorschach and nite owl in some random history of comics book, I thought about buying it. I think it was after V for Vendetta came out that i ordered it along with 'Vendetta' novel and I'm bloody pleased I did.
Do you think they'll actually use that line in the movie and have just cut it down for the trailer?
Hahah, yeah it's the scene in Happy Harry's when he and Nite owl fish for information. I'm surprised all the clientele don't immediately stick their hands in their pockets when Rorschach visits

I read "watchmen" shortly after reading "v for vendetta" both are worthy american graphic novels which i bow to.
lol. i love that scene right before nite owl and rorschach's ROAD TRIP. the owl is so apathetic to the fact that rorschach is beating the crap out of everyone in the bar.

Well apparently there's been a 25 minute showing of it to various journalist's. Pretty much all are saying it looks excellent. There's a scene described (in the prison) which is not making much sense to me at the moment, but then it probably wont until it comes out.
Nite owl is a sweetie but looks like he's standing still next to Rorschach. However he does get a moment with a Knot-Top which I think suprises even Rorschach.

Agreeed!!! Synder is such a fan, I think he wanted to pretty much transfer the comic to the screen as it is. With the timing issues though, it'll be interesting to see what they've cut and if they've added anything (to my mind, Nite-owl screaming in the snow seems to be a slight change...I have a suspicion he's witnessing Rorschach's Nike moment...'just do it' )

And I'm wondering how much guy nudity they'll allow. The guys seemed to be nakid more than the women, especially Dr Manhattan.
I told a friend that it would be cool if we went as Watchmen for Halloween. No one will recognize us this year, save the real fans. Next year it will be the costume everyone will be wearing, if the movie doesn't suck.

Me too! It's the second big movie hype-up for me (TDK being the first one) The end is the beginning is the end or something like that. That song goes so well with the trailer.
It's well worth reading the book, if you can find it. It's amazing and you will be able to spot the scenes from it in the trailer, and you will find out what happens. Ooooh it's such a good read
