Description
This one is one of my best stitched images because there is something more useful than nice picture. In this case is depicted real science.Defects on GaN wafer made by unknown contaminants under Neophote32 inverted microscope. Time by time [this picture is from year 2017] those samples are brought to us by Filip Dominec www.fzu.cz/~dominecf/ from www.fzu.cz/~movpe/index_en.htm… for examination under classical light inverted microscopy for seeing bigger picture over those tiny defects.
In some case was culprit discovered [tiny pieces of iron can do pretty mess on wafer - look like centered spot surrounded by nitride crystals , one of those is depicted on fourth line of figure] but sometime origin of defects is still mystery. On this grid are depicted various defects of various size under UV light, which we used for searching of cracks and growing anomalies inside crystals. I have also picture without UV and filters here , it's zoomed version of first line of figure

I think it's really awesome that you're combining science with art here. All of the small details are fascinating and really showcase a different perspective and creative side of science

I suppose these micro-defects impair the function of the wafer.
