Description
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | BonusWe`re done with dragons, , but I also have a few ideas for other mythical creatures!
Mermaids (1) and werewolves (2) are two aberrant groups of strepsirrhine primates, predatory and with ape-level intelligence. Both are total bastards.
I also considered manticores/sphinxes as some sort of monkey, but I don`t think I can draw that right.
Gorgons (4) are polychaete worms that developed their axochord into a sort of ersatz-spine, allowing them to reach unprecedented size and even support their weight on land. They hunt in the manner of velvet worms, but instead of glue they shoot a substance that solidifies into a stone-like material (interestingly, this chemical seems to be related to the main component of dragonbone). Closely related are the hydras, which don`t have this ability but do have dual venomous claws on their tentacles (leaving marks similar to snake bites), and the krakens (4) which are giant marine filter feeders that use the stone goo to make a protective shell (overgrown with sea plants, it can indeed be mistaken for a tiny island).
