Another university assignment I thought I'd upload xD I'm not sure how well it will play here on dA, but I thought I'd share it anyway!This was for my 2D class, where we had to make an animation in animate, centered around the theme of food. Since I couldn't come up with anything clever I just decided to do one based on my birds xD

Hahah, thanks Gwen, I'm glad you like how it turned out xDDD Oh it is Booker and Dust ouo xD Booker is pretty much exactly the same but I had to change Dust's colours for the sake of saving time animating, because he has too many colours and spots for me to animate here onoΒ

Don't worry, in real life, the cockatiel he's based on gets plenty of food, he's just stupid enough to try steal from my other cockatiel xD

Yes, both of these birds are based on Booker and Dust eve Dust always runs to the food bowl and Booker always tells him to go away.. this is pretty much how they actually behave xD

This is so precious! Something that would have added to the animation would be the adorably funny pitter-patter that cockatiel feet make on hard surfaces.

Originally I had recorded audio for the pitter-patter, and I added it in, but there was just too much noise going on, at least the way I did it. I probably could have made it work with more time, but I didn't have that luxury ;A; Still thanks for your feedback, means a lot ;u;

Omg this is adorable >//.//< Also, it's really well animated! I love how you animated the bowl and the food around it as well, so they wont just be still, it's very creative! I do miss some movement when the bird is like ._.; and not moving, kinda like you did with the bowl. But it's really well done none the less! Also love the colors! And the little peep when he/she notices the bowl with food and goes for it ohmygosh so CUTE!

I really enjoyed trying such a messy art style for once, it was a struggle getting the look to work but I think it came out well in the end ;v;
A friend from uni actually helped me with the colours, beforehand they were quite bright.. I have terrible colour co-ordination skills ono xD
Originally I had animated the " o___o " part to be animated, but I found it was much more effective for him to be completely still xD it added to the shock of the situation, but I totally understand what you mean uvu would have been nice having a little movement, but I didn't know how to make it work well xD still though I really appreciate that constructive criticism there, I don't receive a lot of it, so thanks a bunch for just giving me your honest thoughts ;v;

Well you certainly succeeded cx I'm glad it came out well, experimenting can be difficult, but you sometimes end up with something good when you do cx Ahh well getting help ain't a crime, it helped you making this animation look good cx Ahh well that's always something you can practice xD Ahh well if it works, then it works. Again, it's something you experiment with cx No problem! I think the animation is well done and over all adorable! Yeah, I get most of my audio from YouTube as well, so I can relate x'D Still shows how dedicated you are in finding good audio cx I spend many hours trying to find the perfect sound effects sometimes x_x;

Youtube is a life saver for audio, but thankfully for this assignment it wasn't a big deal if it was good or bad xD

Ahh well, making your own sounds some extra orginality to your piece, but it can be tricky coming up with sounds of your own cx I admit, I am not a master of sound editing, but I do use a software called Audacity. It does the job for me and I find the UI easy as heck. I haven't explored it much, but I bet there's tons of functions in that software!
