Description [CONTEST]! Remember: (f/b)= favorite breakfast and (f/d)= favorite drink!

Shallow voices slowly surfaced to the front of her mind. They mumbled, murmured, and whispered bitterly with anxiety. Thousands of questions pooled through her head. “Why me..?” they whispered. “Why me…” With her head buried in her arms, she wept silently on the edge of her bed. This poor girl was dealt terrible cards. She was cheated out; ripped off; stolen from. All opportunities had been torn away from her grasp. “A few days..?” She whispered. “Why me…”

Days left: 4

The door creaked open softly, letting the warm light pour through the little crack. Silvery white hair peered through the door. “_____..?” You didn’t lift your head, quickly hiding your tears with your sleeves. Footsteps moved towards you, softly and calmly, making sure not to startle you. “______... Can we talk?” You sniffed and wiped your eyes, looking up and moving your (h/l + h/c) hair away from your face swiftly. “Yeah… Yeah, sure.” You whispered hoarsely. Allen took of his jacket and laid it gently on the end of the bed. Slowly, he sat beside you, folding his hands together and looking down into his lap. After a long and eerie silence, he shifted in his seat. “So I uh… I heard… about you.” He cleared his throat in mid sentence. You nodded and sniffed again, leaning your arms against your knees and resting your chin on your hand, covering your mouth with your sleeve. His hands twitched slightly, tightening around each other. “I haven’t really taken it all in yet,” he gave a soft little chuckle, “so forgive me… if I’m being too casual about it.” You shook your head. “No… Don’t worry; I haven’t really accepted it either.” Then, the silence returned. He nudged you softly after a little while. “Do you have anything you want to do?” He turned his head to you; his gray eyes were glossy and puffy. You shrugged and brushed your hair out of your face again. “Not really… I just want to rest for now.” He nodded and turned away. “But… Can you stay here tonight?” You asked quietly. He slid a hand down his face before responding. “Of course I can.” He patted his legs once before standing up. “I’ll go get my things.” You watched as he walked out of the room, leaving the door open. “Okay…” You whispered. You began to crawl under the silky sheets, scooting to the other side. As you got comfortable, Allen walked back in, dressed in gray sweatpants with a white t-shirt. He silently climbed into bed with you, pulling you close and holding you against him. “Good night _____...” He whispered gently. You nuzzled your head into his chest. “Good night… Allen.”

The cheery golden bell hanging over the glass door jingled as you walked through. “Good morning! How y’all doin’?” A joyful young woman from behind the counter smiled as she tossed some pancakes in the air. Allen smiled and walked towards a booth. “I’ll be right with you in just a moment!” You sat across from him, grabbing a menu by the window. The seat groaned slightly as Allen leaned forward, looking at his menu and taking a sip of the iced water in front of him. “Thanks for bringing me here.” You said quietly, smiling gently. He grinned and put down his glass. “Of course, this is your favorite breakfast diner, right?” You nodded and put down the flimsy list of foods. “Oh yeah, definitely.” As he chuckled, the young waitress walked over with a wide smile. “Mornin’ you two! Are y’all ready to order?” She asked. You nodded and looked at Allen, who nodded as well. She licked the tip of her pen before lowering it back to the small notepad. “I’ll have (f/b) with (f/d).” The lady nodded and scribbled it down. She turned to Allen. “Alright, I’ll have a plate of scrambled eggs with cheese and ham, along with a stack of cinnamon pancakes, with a couple waffles on the side, oh! Make that four. And for the sides I’ll have six sausages, eight pieces of bacon, a plate of hash browns, and three cups of fruit please.” The woman’s jaw dropped as he smiled innocently. She glanced over at me and raised her note pad. “That much?” She mouthed. You leaned close to her. “That’s him ordering small.” You whispered. Her eyes widened as she nodded. “I’ll have that out… as fast as I can!” She smiled widely.

She had brought your plate out first, but even so, Allen had literally eaten everything he ordered before you finished. He was scraping the empty plate of hash browns as you stuck the last forkful of (f/b) in your mouth. “Ahh… That was great.” He slouched back and patted his stomach, grinning stupidly. You giggled and swallowed, setting your fork down on the table. “It was amazing. I’ll uh… miss this.” You smiled sadly, looking away from him. He sighed and sat up, his smile sort of shrunk. “Yeah… Me too.” You looked back and held your smile, keeping yourself together as the waitress brought the bill. “Here you are!” She handed it to you and you gladly pulled out your wallet. Then, a hand reached across the table and swiped the bill from you. “I don’t think so.” He took out his wallet and pulled out a handful of money. He counted before handing it to the woman. She recounted before nodding and smiling. “I hope to see you both here again!” Your heart zapped you for a second. You grinned weakly and crawled out of the booth, Allen replicating your moves. “Thank you so much.” You bit your lip as you walked towards the door. “It was great.” Allen replied, taking your hand and waving back at the lady. “I’m glad I spent that time with you.” You grinned and squeezed his hand. “It won’t be the last.” You whispered.

As you pulled on your coat, something at the back of your throat shocked you a bit. You reached up and began to cough lightly into your hand, the prickling sensation not wanting to relieve itself. Allen’s gentle hand pressed firmly against your back, rubbing up and down. “Hey, are you okay?” He asked quietly. As you stopped coughing, you nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine.” You say hoarsely. He looks at you with slight concern before pulling on his winter jacket. “It’s pretty cold outside. You sure you want to go?” He asked. You opened the door and stepped onto the patio, nodding. “Of course I’m sure, I was the one who wanted to go in the first place!” You reply, grabbing his hand and pulling him down the short stairway onto the sidewalk. The fresh night air was brisk, licking your pink cheeks and slithering through your hair. You watched as light clouds of translucent white swirled in wisps from your mouth. Allen squeezed your hand and began to walk with you. The colorful leaves on the ground were laced with frost, dancing along in the breeze. The moonlight shone down upon your faces, illuminating Allen’s cherry red nose and chilled cheeks. You giggled and looked back down at the sidewalk. “What?” He asked suspiciously. You shook your head. “Nothing, nothing!” You giggled some more. He shook his head and nudged you. “It’s not nothing!” He smiled as you looked up at him. “It’s just… you look so cute when your cold!” You chuckle. His cheeks grow redder and he looks away shyly. “I’m not even cold!” You smirk and turn away. “Uh huh, sure.” He laughs and pushes you gently so you stumble off the curb. “Hey!” You jump back up and push him harder, making him trip slightly into the frosted grass. He smiles widely and yanks on your arm, causing you to slam into him with a squeal. You laugh hard as he pulls his hood over his hair. “I’m not cold!” He says quietly as you both return to a normal pace. You smile at the ground, the trees around you singing happily as you pass. “This is nice… I’ve always loved the transition from autumn to winter.” You smile. He looked down at you. “Yeah… It’s really beautiful. Kinda like you.” You feel your cheeks regain feeling as they heat up. “That was a cheap shot.” You tease. He shrugged and chuckled. “Hey, I had to say something!”

Your face scrunched up slightly as your throat began to grow irritably sore. You opened the fridge in the kitchen and pulled out some milk, listening to the television in the front room which Allen was watching. Looking out the icy window, you could tell that it was late. “Allen? Want some hot cocoa?” You asked hoarsely. You watched a hand wave over the fuzzy couch. “Yeah, sure!” You coughed slightly and nodded, pulling out two mugs from the cabinet above. You cleared your throat and began pouring the milk. Glancing up, you saw Allen lean forward, getting into his show. You smiled gently before turning back and grabbing the cocoa mix. Your hand was trembling slightly, causing your throat to tighten and itch some more. You shook your head and forced it to the back of your mind. You scooped out a couple spoonfuls of the mix into Allen’s cup and some into yours, stirring them until they turned from white to light brown. You turned away from the drinks as you coughed roughly into your sleeve. Allen looked up from behind the couch, making sure you were okay. You waved a hand and shook your head. He nodded and returned to the television. You took a deep breath and moved them to the microwave, setting the time for a minute. As they heated up, you leaned against counter and looked down at the tiled floor. Tomorrow… You held a shaking hand over your face until the timer on the microwave went off. You sighed and opened the tiny door, pulling out the drinks quickly and setting them on a tray. Slowly, you began to walk towards the couch. “Allen… They’re…” Your vision suddenly blurred and your throat felt like it was being torn apart. You lost your footing and began to fall. “_______!!” Allen jumped from the couch and rushed to you as the mugs crashed to the ground, shattering and splattering its contents all over the floor. He fell to his knees and lifted your head up onto his lap. “______..! Hey!” Your vision pulsed in and out of focus. You suddenly coughed very hard and something warm trickled down your chin. “AH! _____!!” You began to lose consciousness, listening to Allen’s distressed calls as he frantically searched for his phone.

Allen had a death grip on your hand. Tearstains streaked his cheeks, his gray and puffy eyes gazed down at you. You could feel the tubes and cords hooked into you. You weakly opened your mouth, speaking for the first time in hours. “Allen… It’s okay.” He sniffed and scooted closer. He gently moved your blanket closer to your shoulders, noticing the slight redness in your cheeks. He shook his head and bit his lip. “It’s not okay _____. I’m not okay with you leaving me.” He whimpered. Your lip trembled slightly, but you did not cry. You squeezed his hand weakly and smiled. “I’m not leaving you.” You sniffed and lifted your hand, pressing it against his head. “This is going to get sappy,” you laughed feebly, “but I won’t leave you. I’ll be in here,” you patted his head gently, then moved your hand down to his chest, “and in here.” You whispered hoarsely. He smiled as fresh tears trickled down his cheeks. “Yeah, you definitely will be.” He grabbed the hand on his chest and pulled it to his lips, kissing it gently. Your breathing began to slow, and your vision was fading once more. “I love you, you know that?” He said gently with a genuine smile. You smiled and nodded slowly, a tear slipping out and rolling down the side of your face. “Yeah… I love you too…” You looked up at him one last time. “Goodbye, Allen… I’ll miss you.” With a faint whisper, you closed your eyes. Your hand went limp, your chest failing to rise and fall any further. Allen felt your presence disappear, and began to break down. He pulled your body close and sobbed into your neck, letting his love pour deep into your skin, forever marking you as his one and only.

My heart and soul are officially dead. This was a great story though! I agree with Hikari-Matatabi, even though it's a one shot it would be great if there was at least one sequel. Pleeeezeeee?
