Description Okay, this is kinda funny in a cosmic sort of way. Like God himself is having a laugh at my expense. I'm just gonna cut to the chase: Theatrum Orbis Equinis is no more. I had a thought that keeping the story as a goddamn MLP fanfic, I'd be neutering my potential audience, and with the sheer amount of work I've put into this story, I'm not about to turn it into the flop that Amphibia at War and The Journeys of Luz Noceda turned out to be. Seriously, this is something I've had in the works for literal years.

It all began at least two years ago when the initial concept popped into my head while on vacation in Mississippi. You might wonder what the fuck kind of vacationing can happen in the worst state in the union, but that's not important. Essentially, the idea sat on the back burner for the better part of a year until I sat down and wrote an initial draft, and then I was distracted by other things. Eventually, though, I wrote my first two fully fledged stories, and after finishing JLN, I bounced a few ideas around before settling on Grand Equestria. I wrote a revision of the first draft, then a second that expanded on the ideas of the first, and then tackled the completed version, which began on September 24th of last year. I proceeded to work at an impressively slow pace, mostly slogging through the world building and character interactions. Work ethic is something I desperately need to work on. Anyway, it took about 4 months to write out 80 pages on Google Docs, and many of those pages were heavy in dialogue, so lots of open space on those pages. After that was the fun part which I had been building up for, which spanned a further 72 pages, which were extremely light on dialogue, so very dense in words. In spite of this fact, this second half took me only 2 months. The half with less words took twice as long as the information dense half that I actually cared about. No, this isn't an isolated example, and yes, all signs point towards ADHD.

But after that stopping point on the 152nd page, I came to the aforementioned realization. The first obstacle was, of course, coming up with new names for an entire cast of characters, which didn't sound too bad until I realized that certain groups were completely non-pony and, even worse, some plot points relied on armies of non-human creatures. Fortunately, I managed to salvage my months of progress, making liberal use of copy and paste to transfer most of the test to a new document, cutting out and replacing MLP names and horse centric terms, and fully rewriting several scenes. This only took me 7 days, and it was quite helpful, as I was forced to thoroughly look over my work and catch small but noticeable errors. So, Equestria had become Kanosia, and at 7 months into the final draft, I can confidently say that I am past the 3/4 completion mark. Still, I am slow to work and have to spend a massive portion of every day away from the computer, so if you're excited to read this story, don't hold your breath.

I have two things to say to finish this massive post.

1) for any Bronies that subscribed after seeing the initial Grand Equestria posts, sorry... but you can stick around if you'd like

2) if anyone out there is interested and has any sort of skill in drawing or writing, would you be interested in helping this project and others like it come to life? Just maybe sketching out a few character designs or fix up the story to make it just a little bit better? I'm going to be upfront and say that I cannot provide any sort of payment. It's only a hobby, but it sure is fun and I'm looking for friends with similar interests. Who knew that high school doesn't have a whole lot of nerds who are into writing historical-based fiction?

If you're reading this part, thank you for staying around. More updates to come...
