Description
Belatedly realizing I have a bunch of things on tumblr I never posted here... lol whoops. This is pretty old but I still like the way his face came out~So, everyone knows Jo's sister, Rae, who I've shown a million times with her whole backstory and all. But I don't think I ever posted their younger brother, Nataan (or, Nate in modern au land)
Nataan is the only Mori sibling that didn't become a fighter and instead followed in their father's footsteps of becoming an artist. He's a leather worker and, since that's more of a passion than a career for him, is also a nutritionist and messes around with his million hobbies.
Nat's really athletic but he couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag, doesn't like conflict and is very easy-going like Jo. He's seemingly less grounded than his sisters, but he's always been a lot luckier, and a lot of stuff in his life came easily to him. He's charming and casually skilled with most things he tries, so he's not really used to being in uncomfortable positions (at the beginning of his story) and has a hard time understanding Rae and Jo's conflicts. He is kind of the beacon of sunshine in their family that soothes over most of the strain caused by Jo's whole situation. He's also the most socially adept out of the siblings, which is really saying something when he's got one older sister that's the human embodiment of a puppy and another older sister who's devastatingly charming but with an air of mysterious sadness going for her.

Aaaaahhhh, I just really like - no, wait, adore him! (When you first linked me to him via your tumblr, I kinda couldn't help but stare and fawn at him, to be honest - Nataan both looks great, and seems like such an interesting character!
)
I like how he's a bit of a Jack-of-All-Trades, blessed with the families muscular build (and probably gets a lot of training done, too) but without the general knowledge of how to use his fists for punching; he's got much better things to do than punching - like leather working (which is so cool! )
I really wonder what kind of impact Jo's time with Merke must have had on her family, as well as her general relationship with her family. You've got incredibly compelling characters for sure! I can't help but be fascinated!

I'm glad you like him! He's definitely the most well-adjusted out of his siblings haha, but he does get a lot of (good-natured) shit from them for going into art
Yess, though most Thali people are naturally pretty muscular in general~ The Moris just have a tendency towards being gym rats lol
It was really hard on them, especially since Jo was allowed to visit home... Summarizing the best I can, the brainwashing changed nothing about their core personalities except giving them an unshakeable loyalty to Merke and convictions that what Merke is doing is the only answer/blind faith to their religion and the Melek. Thali is partially occupied by Merke, and Jo's home tribe is in the occupied territory. So Jo can visit them which is horrible for the family because she's almost the same. The catch is, the family is warned to play along or Jo will be punished
SO they have to deal with all that for a few years, and when Jo finally is able to come home they have a really hard time trusting her... except for Nat. It's pretty upsetting for everyone for a while because they're all so close as a family

He's totally handsome! (Just like Jo, actually - why is her family so good-looking? Her sister's also fine! XD Love it!)
It's good there's an anomaly in her family, I suppose? Someone's got to be adjusted (and for that matter, someone's gotta be teased, too - and it seems he's gotten the short end of the stick in both departments~ )
The Moris sound like a fun family - not without their strives and personal scars, of course - but it's clear they all love each other, and even share in each other's interests, which always is a good thing.
Reading that Jo's base personality didn't change - that she basically came home as the person she was, lovable and protective - but that such a fundamental part of her was just... warped, it must've been horrible to her family, especially considering there was next to nothing anyone could do about it. It was understandable Jo felt as if she has to 'atone' for the things she did while being under Merke's control, but now it makes even more sense - in spite of the brainwashing, it was still her (even though it really, really wasn't...)
She's got a loyal family for sure though, and it's such a good thing Elliot entered her life when she did...! Such a fascinating story!
Gosh, how did Jo get recruited by Merke? Her family must've been more than just upset about her being forced into the ranks and then getting... basically brainwashed...! Wow.

XD really the whole family has blessed Thali genes haha
Tbh Jo and Rae are just dramatic/unlucky lol
They are! And very close. It's going to be interesting to write when I finally get around to it (and sad aha)
Jo's tribal land, before the story starts, is taken as a war colony by Merke and in the fighting it was easy for a special Melek team to capture Jo in the battle.
Merke had profiled 50 kids with abilities they wanted before making their move on Thali, all of whom were 'war orphans'/kids whose parents were either dead or caught up in the war. Jo's capture was one of the easier ones for them.

Nataan: Nah, if I had a beard like yours I'd overheat in my workshop! It's always nice to meet a friend of Jo's, though.

Infineto: I knew about her back when she was still in the academy, I never got a chance to really talk to her at the time because of being turned into a visord. *scratches his head* after that it's a really long story
