I don't use a specific software, just Photoshop CS6. However, GraphicsGale is a program specifically for pixel art! The artists that use it produce far superior pixel works, ahaha! I would recommend it, but artists have made pixels on SAI as well! What do you use? ;;7;;

I know many pixel artists that just use a mouse to pixel! It's incredible! Ichigo-tan is one of them ;;7;; So it's completely doable!
I will say, though, that having a tablet definitely helps me, at least!
