It was a quiet night in Wynsiph, and the red moon shone bright overhead shadowing the town within its ominous glow. The air around filled with conversations about the upcoming Warptide and the festivities that came along with it. A bit away from the heart of town where a couple of gros, a lovely green wyngro and her pink friend.
“Wicke isn’t this amazing?!” the pink gro gushed “I have never been to a Warptide festival before!” she clapped her paws together and put them by her mouth as she jumped and squealed with joy. “This is so exciting! I’ve heard so many stories about Warptide...” she continued to blurt her loud and excited voice catching the attention of some of the onlookers around her, she covered her mouth as she felt the eyes pierce her.
“Yes, quite wonderful indeed, Ambrosia.” the green gro, presumably Wicke noted while looking at a table with colorful flowers on them. She handed one to Ambrosia, and Ambrosia smiled closing her eyes “No. You should keep it; it looks better with your hair.”
Wicke smiled and was about to stick it in her hat when there was a loud crash, and the ground began to shake and quake. A massive pricing roar was heard within the distance, along with the screams of towns wyngro passing by. Ambrosia put her paws over her head in order to cover her ears. While Wicke broke from concentration to put her claw onto Ambrosia's shoulder.
“Calm down.” She reassures her. “I am sure someone just dropped something we can go and calmly check.” Ambrosia nodded at her friend. “Y...yeah Lets go check.”
The two girls walked, and the first thing Ambrosia saw was a shaking little Coyfeen.
“Coy?” she asked confused “What’s wrong?” she bent down and picked up the shivering little wyngling.
Coy shook, “S..Spp..SPITE! VERY BIG SPITE! IT’S AT THE NOVA TREE!” He screamed pointing at the Nova Tree, while Coy spoke, Wicke looked on frozen in fear upon the sight she saw. On top of the beloved Nova Tree was the Deelagun, the largest spite anyone has ever seen.
Ambrosia had never seen a spite before. Seeing that it was draining the magic from the Nova Tree, her eyes began to water. Ambrosia snapped out of her fear to grab Wicke’s stiff hand and started to bolt off, gripping the green gro’s hand as hard as she could, and harder than she ever had before. Amborisa ran so fast that the arm almost felt ripped from the socket. Wicke resisted slightly but eventually let her pull her off after some yards of running a familiar cry was heard. Ambrosia turned around and saw a little yellow blob and her eyes shot wide with fear. She handed Coy to Wicke, who hesitantly nuzzled into her chest to not look at the terrifying sight. “Stay here; I think Ninth’s in trouble," Amborisa told Wicke sternly.
Before Wicke could get a word out, Ambrosia had already started to sprint over to the yellow gro her feet being cut slightly from the shards of the torn up tree being scattered among the ground. She saw the Spite lift his tail and hover it right over the wyngling frozen in fear. “NO!” Ambrosia impulsively threw a rock at the Deelagun.
The small clink of the stone hitting the enormous black figure and falling to the ground made the Deelagun stop for a long enough time for Ambrosia to run over and push Ninthalor before the tail fell, knocking Ambrosia to the ground. She struggled to stand up as she felt pain throughout her body. Suddenly Ninth yelled and whined, “Look out!” As the tail fell harder, a slight crack could be heard with the sound of Ambrosias piercing and pain filled scream. Tears stung her eyes as she began to black out, the last thing she saw was the large black tail lifting up for the final blow.
The cold body of the pink gro laid on the ground as the tail missed her completely and dropped like a big thud on the ground as she spite looked over and licked its teeth and picked up the pink biped and looked her over its claws digging deep into her shoulder. The Deelagun swung its tail around and was about to drop it, and the gro into its mouth when it felt a pain as its tail fell onto something sharp it screamed as the grip from the gro loosened as she slid from the grasp the Spites claws digging into her skin causing massive cuts that bleed heavily. Ambrosia suddenly fell from the Deelaguns grasp and began to fall faster and faster heavy and limp right as she was about to hit the ground a large gro swooped down and grabbed her from mid-air saving her from death. He swooped around a few times the hot air burning his face as the creature burned the area around him. He landed setting Ambrosia by a house, before turning and going back to fighting the large spite. Leaving Ambrosia alone to be saved by someone else.
Ambrosia felt empty, the world was dark she tried to move but was paralyzed nothing moved, she felt nothing but sharp agonizing pain. She tried to scream but nothing came out there was only pain. Ambrosia laid in agony before she could feel something, tingling She suddenly saw everyone including the Deelagun. She could see Wicke and her friends that she cared for so much. But the scariest thing that she saw was her own body. She looked back at herself, wasting away and watching her friends get killed because she wasn’t there to protect them. Wicke was holding Coy close to her chest before the deep flames erupting from the mouth of the beast leaving them in ashes. She felt tears in her eyes as she tried to scream, maybe if she could move, she could not see this again. Just then saw a little yellow gro stand by her nudging her unmoving body as she saw the long black snake slither coming up slowly before the weight dropped and the tail fell on top of herself and the little gro.
Ambrosia sat up with confusion forcing its way into her thoughts. She came back to reality and gathered what just happened. “NINTH!” She breathed hard. She looked around, seeing that she was sitting in an unknown location to her. Ambrosia's shoulder stung like an open wound being covered in alcohol. As she propped herself, She felt that it was wrapped tightly. She winced and looked around, and attempted to stand up to get around, but it was no use. Her knee painfully gave out every time she tried to get up. She closed her eyes and rubbed them, opening them as if she just woke up. She rubbed her head, trying to assess her situation. Everything was so confusing, the last time she was conscious, she just got hit with the tail of that monstrous spite. Ninth was in trouble, or was he? Who brought her here? Is she dead? Well, wherever she was, and however she got there, she knew that she had to see if her friends made it out of the catastrophe ok.
